Terps will work on rebounding

Full story: Baltimore Sun

Maryland players emerged from the locker room slowly after the game. Quarterback Chris Turner said he was "kind of in shock." The Terrapins have rebounded from tough defeats all season.

They may go to a bowl game but not the acc championship game, BC will take MD apart and then go to the championship game. Typical MD team.

gbw- They can't go to the championship game at all. If we beat BC, that puts FSU into it.

All the Terps can play for is the chance at a better bowl game. Sigh...

The Terps should be happy with the 7 or 8 wins that they got this season. The recruiting has been horrible the last couple of years, so it is amazing that they have won this many games. Until the Maryland staff can figure out how to get it done in the living rooms, then they will never surpass mediocrity.

As a season ticket holder who froze in frustration on Saturday night as the Terps were outclassed in every facet of the game, I just want to say this:

Ralph - perhaps you and your coaching staff should have used the week to actually prepare the team properly instead of wasting your energy on trying to get all of the fans to wear black at the stadium.

Am I the only one who read this headline (Terps will work on rebounding) and thought the article was about the basketball team? Hey editor- nice job.

I was there the other nite. Very overrated team. Can't beat the big boys when it counts. Tired of hearing Fridge saying it was his fault. If you can't get them up for a game that big then something is wrong. ITs time for a change. Trust me, they will be killed this week and I am a Maryland fan. Even if they lose they will go to a bowl game. Not the one they wanted or had a chance.

Gary and Ralph both are over paid and overrated. That's why both programs are a joke. Imagine if these two actually workrd hard for all of the Terp fans who continue to be disappointed with ugly losses year after year. Keep up the good work D. Yow. You really nailed it with these two!

Yeah, Gary did a terrible job getting the Terps out of the NCAA imposed 'Death Sentence.' He was the right man for the job, and he is the right man for the job now.

Let's hope the coaching staff learned one thing from the FSU loss, that is how effective the blitz is against the pass!! Turner's ineffectiveness was completely related to the FSU pass rush. The "prevent defense" just gives the opposing QBs too much time to ad-lib. The BC game gives the UM a chance to experiment with a new defensive philosophy plus the BC QB will be missing.

The Terp players have to show up to play real football or else BC will smash them and their gear into the turf all day long.I don't care to be spoilers;I want to end reg.season on a winning note.BC starting qb hurt but the sub has an arm, too.Another away game to be challenged;I'll hold my breath.

I pondered the "Terps Will Work On Rebounding" article title and concluded that, if intentional, it was a brilliant irony. Gary Williams and Ralph Friedgen...

1. Question: D id UMD go to the NCAA basketball tournment the last 2 years? Answer NO.
2. Question: How did UMD basketball do in the other tournment (NIT)the last 2 years. Answer not very good.
3. Question: Why does UMD football look so good in some games and so bad in others? Answer: UMD is inconsistant. UMD vs Fl State: 8269I say poor play calling, poor formations vs. other teams weaknesses (UMD coaches did not accurately evaluate the opponents weakness and how to exploit that weakness i.e. Fl State did a good job in preparation of formations/strategies and UMD coaching staff did a poor job of formations/strategies to exploit Fl. States.

Conclusion: UMD coaches are erratic in accuracy of exploting opponents weakness.
