Jason Whitlock could not be more wrong. The hit on Trent Green was violent, and it was horrible to watch him lie on the ground motionless. But football is violent. Large men move incredibly fast attempting to knock each other down. And injuries happen every game. I am very sorry that Green was knocked out, and I hope that he recovers quickly. But there was no penalty on the play because there was nothing illegal - Geathers was pushed into Green, he avoided hitting Green in the helmet - but still 2 very large men ran into each other at high speed. The vioence of the NFL is one of the reasons we are attracted to the sport. Whitlock's article is just a bunch of whining - even Tony Gonzalez said the hit was clean.

Favre would have prolly finished the game...but with atleast an extra 3 interceptions on top of the usual 3 ints he throws every game. Favre himself needs to sit down and let aaron rodgers play

Cicinnati knows how it feels to lose a quarterback.
When you have 265 lbs running to stop someone with teh ball you can't stop. Big hits are why you watch the game. Rules are made tp protectthe quarterback however the quarterbacks can't take advantage of the rules. GET DOWN AND SLIDE !!!! That is what the rule was made for. DOn't try to get that little extra. Fine Green for being STUPID!

I completely agree with this article. I was outraged that no flag was thrown and he still hasnt be punished. Quarterbacks no matter what deserve the most protection in the league. Trent was denied what he is supposed to be protected by league rules.

true dat- Why don't you go wrestle with a bear or a 2000 pound bull and get stomped on then get up and walk away. You are a jerk calling Trent a wimp, he was unconscious for 11 minutes. Trent was down when he got hit that is a cheap cowardly shot and you are no better calling a man who gave his all a wimp. Why don't you grow up you moron. You are the loser, true dat not Trent, and if anyone should be fined for being stupid it's you Howie. I was watching the game on television and though it's true Tony said the hit was clean, it depends on the angle from which you see the hit, from the points I saw I believe Geather's hit was intentional especially when you see how many other Bengal players dodged him. All of you calling Trent names need to take a good look in the mirror and say those things to the person looking back at you. To those who say the hit was clean keep watching the replays. Terry I agree with you it is an outrage that they didn't throw a flag but when you watch Chiefs games you are going to see a lot of that. Go Chiefs!!
