The ball does NOT need to cross the plane with a RECEIVER catches it. For a receiving touchdown, the receiver needs to have both feed in the end-zone and control of the ball. Consider this scenario:
A quarterback rolls to the right. He throws to a receiver on the right side of the end-zone. The ball travels in the air, and during its entire trip via air, it is out of bounds. But the receiver, with feet in bounds, reaches out and grabs it in, with both feet down in the end-zone.
No one with any knowledge of football would deny that the above scenario represents a touchdown. The same goes for sideline catches. The BALL doesn't need to be in-bounds. Only the player's feet do. The receiving touchdown rule is the inverse of the sideline receiving rule. Feet in, ball under control=catch. Similarly, feet in end-zone, ball under control=touchdown.

Correct, thanks for clarifying the fact that there was NO WAY the Ravens could have been left holding anything but bush.

The Ravens and their fans like to act as if the whole world is out to get them. It makes them feel like bad asses with a whole "Us vs. The World" mindset but it is not the case.

What is the case is that the Ravens and their fans are bullies. When dishing it out, Ray Lewis dances and the fans gloat but when it is against them it becomes unfair.

Remember when Todd Heap limped to the line of scrimmage and got nailed? The Ravens and the fans cried over it and said it was dirty. It was perfectly legal. Yet no Raven or fan wanted to hear it.

Well, Ray Lewis CELEBRATED the fact he broke Mendenhall's shoulder. It was a legal hit, a good one at that but he ended a man's season and was quoted in Sports Illustrated as stating that it was the "best feeling in the world. I didnt yell "He's hurt" I yelled "He's done" "

Imagine how Ravens fans would be up in arms if James Farrior leveled Flacco and shouted "He's done!" All of you would want him shot for it and players such as Suggs and Lewis would go to the media and basically put a hit out on him for it.

It's always ok for the Ravens to injure a man as that is "just playing football" and it is always ok for the Ravens to get the benefit of an official's call "thats the way it goes. Deal with it" but any time anything goes against them or a hard hit is levied on one of them it becomes a crime against human nature.

Look at how Bart Scott threatened to maim Hines Ward. His remarks were MUCH dirtier than any of Ward's LEGAL blocks thrown.

You didnt hear ANY Steeler threaten to take Lewis out after he injured Mendenhall and gloated about it but were it the other way around it would be thug nation talking about getting the Steelers back.

The Ravens are Scott Farkus from 'A Christmas Story'. They have gotten by on reputation alone and are not as tough as everyone imagines they are.

Well, the Steelers routinely pull a Ralphie and beat the bully until he cries and every one of you as well as the players are still crying.

If you lose to the Cowboys you cant blame your missing the playoffs on refs and bad calls.

Hell if I recall correctly all of you cried foul when you had to take your bye week early in the season and were ready to blame failure on having to play so many in a row and being at a disadvantage due to the early bye.

Well, it didnt hurt your team so suddenly you arent crying about it but it was going to be a ready made excuse for you if the team had failed.

The league isnt out to get the Ravens and the Ravens arent as big and bad as they and their fans like to believe. A bunch of playground bullies in purple who cannot ever accept that someone is better than they are.

ANYTIME another team beats the Ravens it becomes

A. The result of bad calls.

B. "We had 48 players on Injured Reserve"

Never is it "The Ravens gave it their best and fell short today. They lost the game."

BUT

If the Ravens WIN it is ALWAYS that they were the better team and earned it.

Good luck to them against the Cowboys but I already know that all of you have excuses ready should they lose.

A. That Steelers game and the bad call killed morale and we went into the game not being fully prepared mentally.

B. We had 49 players on Injured Reserve and Ray Lewis and Todd Heap both played with 30 injuries each.

C. It was the last game in Texas Stadium and the league wanted Dallas to go out with a big win on national television. The league was out to get us with bad calls.

what kills me about steeler fans is that they think their team is a "great" football team. they are a very good team but certainly not great. baltimore is every bit as good- either game against pitt could have went baltimores way. if fact pitt has won 4 games by 4 points or less so a little bad luck instead of the rabbits foot they own-they could be 7-7.
Ya but that Rabbits name is Roger Goodell and he has a Big Foot and its up the Officials asses.......its all about league revenue....the phantom first down call, the touchdown Etc....the steelers make money for the NFL.... the Ravens dont.

That's a sign of dehydration, Urinator. Try alternating glasses of water with the bottles of MD 20-20.
