great more good news, this is why it makes no sense to play Boller at all, play Troy to see if he's worth keeping after this season.

With the team we have, if we get a few lucky breaks throughout the season, we could end up as 9-7 and make the playoffs. This is not MLB where you play 162 or the NBA where you play 82. With a 16 game schedule anything could happen. I don't understand why people are already giving up on this team. And if we were to give up on the season the team would play Flacco, not Smith.

why do i even listen to any report at all? They are always sugar coated and usually feign the truth. Fromthis point on, whoever suits up Sunday is all I care about. I'll take the injury report with a grain of salt. When did Reed injur his shoulder??? Couldn't have been at this camp

Thank you! Finally, someone who's willing to let the team play some games this season before writing them off.

Not sure, but I believe it was injured last season. He started the preseason on the PUP list.

There was a previous report on this where Harbaugh said he'd be ready for the opener, but Reed contradicted him saying he was not so sure. He indicated it may need surgery to permanently correct when he's done playing.

if that is the case, I hate to say it, but I don't see him playing at all this season. If it didn't get better in 9 months it won't now either.

What a day to be a Baltimore Sports fan. Half our football team is injured, our baseball team has no pitching staff at all and Coach Freidgen just doomed the MD Football team by naming Steffy as the starter. I'm officially depressed.

That Freidgen is a tool isn't he? He has all of these displinary "points" for his players while he disappears to eat every hour-I am sure its not cheap to load him up for a day!

Fridge is paralysis by analysis, that is when he is not stuffing his face. and replacing his shirt.

There were some fans on here who became aware, over time, that Reed's shoulder injury was more serious than the team was letting on.

Which makes me wonder about our medical staff(Therapy, Doctors, etc.). It seems to happen quite often that an injury is worse than expected around here and you never hear about our doctors doing a great job at helping a player get back to health quickly.

Another injury that fans should not expect to improve is Chris McAlister's knee injury. His knee has been bothering him for some years now. When he has the swelling under control and the soreness at a minimum, McAlister has proven that he is a top 3 cornerback in the league. However, if you begin to see McAlister get beat once every game or other game for a TD or long pass play, then you will know that it is the knee.

This is just a common Baltimore thing. Do te Orioles and Ravens share the same doctors? The Orioles always have players who get a hang nail and then end up missing a whole season. I doubt Reed suits up at all this year. We should have seen this coming when the Ravens signed Leonhard and then drafted two more safeties. I'm sure one of those roster spots would have been used on a tackle or receiver if we had known Reed was OK.
