You have to get him down as best you can. Sometimes it's helmet to helmet, which guys aren't trying to do, but that's just the way it is. It's part of the game." And as part of the game some people get hurt, So either play like a man or keep your candy ass on the bench... As a former player we were taught win if you can loose if you must but always cheat and take out their best player when you can..

After hearing the Steelers thug LB Harrison's comments about INTENDING to hurt anyone who comes near him, he needs to be tossed out of the league. He's shown a pattern of violence for quite some time now.

I think the players should wear a rubberized suit over their pads so they would have more protection. It would make it easier for them to get back up as they would just bounce off the field. Also, they could put a transmitter in their helmets so if anyone got within 3 feet of them, an alarm would go off and play would stop so nobody got hurt. The refs should blow the whistle if they see a ball carrier is in imminent danger of being hit. If in his opinion the defensive player will make contact with the offensive player they blow the play dead and roll two dice to see who gets the ball. If he rolls 7, 11 or snake eyes it's a fumble and the defense gets the ball. Otherwise the offense gets a first down on doubles and 5 yards on even and a 2 yard loss on odd.

I think they need to be kicked out of 5 games with no pay and fined $250,000. There's no reason to hit a person like this. I also feel if they injure a person to the point they can't play anymore they must pay the injured player for the rest of their lives.

Actually, I think the guys they're talking about ARE trying to do it. How would you like to be in the head with a battering ram....cause that's pretty much what it is.

I thought Jackson was dead. He still hadn't moved when they came back from break. Robinson intentionally put his head down while he was charging. It was a dirty and intentional hit. If all you get is a 15 yard penalty why would anyone stop?

With the speed of the game collisions are gonna happen and can't be avoided. That DeSean Jackson play wasn't dirty at all.It happens in a fraction of a second. Are DB's suppose to stop in their tracks and wait to see if the guy catches the ball? Please don't start treating WR's like QB's let them play ball like they way its suppose to played.

To common sense soldier: Did you even read what Harrison said or did you just conclude it for yourself that he wants to hurt people? He said he doesn't want to injure people (End their career etc...) Hurt people come back to play again. Harrison is a defensive end, not a linebacker and thug players wear purple and play in Baltimore.

At least he never stabbed anyone and killed them.

Sorry but the video shown on ESPN proves you WRONG. He's still a violent offender on the field.

The refs and NFL seem to disagree with you.

wow, all these years of American football and now people are suddenly worried about these things? Let them play the game. They know the risks. I don't, can't and wouldn't play, and I also wouldn't last through a single play if someone put me on the field. But these guys are in shape, they train for this. Are we going to "sissify" every thing now?

I say if you hit someone with wanton disregard for their safety, your punishment should be someone peeing on you. I mean, i tried to rape a bi**h and what did she do to teach me a lesson? The crazy B pist on me! Now I know not to do that anymore.

The biggest offender got the biggest fine, and a hard reprimand for his statements in that interview.

Maybe they should have a weight limit in the NFL. No one heavier than 240lb. Or they could just have the players wear flags and forget tackling altogether.

hell, the local midget football league removed their wieght limits only so the biggest kids can play without experience only for the intimidation factor!
