I am all for the nitty gritty knockin people on their butt kind of football, but the helmet to helmet hits are getting to be a bit much. I dont know what their definition of "devastating hits" is, but i really like the suspensions for the helmet to helmet hits. Good call

Good, glad to hear it. Head-hunting has no place in the sport - or in hockey, another sport with problems in that area.

Hard hitting, good tackling, clean play....let's see more of that. It should be a tough sport...not a violent one.

They just successfully ruined the game!

Bet they'll regret making this decision when ticket sales plummet.

Gooddell and the owners will never be able to pull off a 20 or 22 game schedule if 1st string players are getting knocked out of the game at the rate 8-9 a week.

it all comes down to the money......

What's next, flag football ? This is why I started watching Rugby. This game is being ruined. My God, the old time players would have literally been thrown out of the league.

The helmet to helmet hits on the offensive skill positions cause the injuries to the league's marquee players. This is totally in line with the attempts to get to 20 games.

How about taking it a sensible step further? I'm talking about a deliberate helmet-to-helmet hit sending a guy out for several games or the season. Let the perpetrator (and this is a criminal act we're talking about) sit out as long as the victime has to. Miss the same amoung of games. Only fair, don't you think? This should also apply to hockey, by the way.
