Ouch, this must say alot about how much faith this new regime has in John Beck being the guy from day one. If Trent Green gives us the best chance to turn this thing around, I'm all for it. In all honesty, he probably could have played after the concussion last year, but Cam and Mueller didn't want to give up that 4th rd pick. I just hope Beck can prove himself as the true starter (if for no other reason, we used a frickin 2nd round pick on the guy). However, the Dolphins have crushed my hopes before.

Setting the football aspect aside...I would hang it up if I were Green. The risk is greater then the reward.

I am hoping they would want him back as a back up QB / proven veteran emergency QB. Trent showed very poor arm strength before his injury and that led to most of his INTs as well as his overall poor performance, he simply could not make the throws. I hope the plan is to give Beck the job this year and work with him, keep Trent as a back up and cut ties with Lemon who in my opinion completely stunk. That leaves Bramlet as the 3rd QB. Ireland was high on the Beck according to his post GM interviews and hopefully the new QB coach and OL coach can help him progress. Go Phins!

Keep on cleaning house, get RID of Trent. He is pretty much a stiff with no mobility anyway. He does throw a beautiful interception, I will admit. New team, new blood. Bye Bye Trent, we wont miss ya!

Amazing how quickly people are willing to give up Zach. Yea the other guys did such a great job in his absence. There was a serious dropoff after he was out. wtf is wrong with you people?

I didn'T see anywhere where it says he is discussing being the starting QB. My guess is that Trent would be "the veteran backup", if he comes down a bit in his expectations.
Now, all we have to figure out is ... who is he going to back up? I certainly can't see Beck going in on day one, which probably means that they will pick up someone off of the market.

Now that the Dolphins are doing things right, you always have a veteran as back up when your bringing alone a rookie quarterback. Green would be a very good back up, to Beck.

Are they bringing him back as the QB coach or the play caller down on the field????
Surely it is not for a playing position....is it????
