Full story: Akron Beacon Journal

Before thinking about what the Browns should do with the third pick in the NFL Draft in a couple of weeks, let's think about the Browns.

Terry talks about the Browns' pathetic record for and against the ground game. Point: teams are built from the ground up. Starting on yet another QB project is futile. There's no mystery here: meat on the lines, then improve skills. Savage didn't get to where he is by heing stupid--he knows this.

You can not win consistently without winning the lines of scrimmage, PERIOD. Thank God Savage knows this as most of the fans don't seem to understand. Drafting a QB now will set us back once again. We need to trade down IF a legitimate deal is offered. If we can stay in the top ten and pick up an extra 2nd and 3rd or even a 2008 1st and a 2nd or 3rd this year, great do it. Has anyone even thought about lining Gains Adams up opposite Wimbley? Then using remaining picks on a CB and linemen. Remember, Defense wins championships!!!

We changed some faces but not enough to make an imoact this year. No one player is going to make a deferance. If we can trade down for more picks to provide more talent on a team that needs it then letes do it.

Our team needs more talent, not only on the D-line but in many areas. Lets trade down if we can to aquire one or two more players. this is a team sport and we need a stronger team.

Please...stop saying we should waste that pick on a QB. Just stop it, all of you. The o-line should be the main focus. We don't need to sit on another COUCH!

i am glad you, unlike the so called sports SCRIBES tell it like it is.THE DAY BEFORE THE SEASON BEGIN YOU SHOULD WRITE TO THE FANS OF CLEVELAND,THAT CRENELL HAS NOTHING TO WIN WITH.& THEY SHOULD BE SATISFIED WITH WHAT THE OWERNS ALLOW THEM TO PAY FOR & BE HAPPY.IT SICKENS ME THAT CRENNELL WILL BE USED AS PLOY TO GOAD THE FANS AGAIN,& DESTROY A GREAT MANAGER. BRADY QUINN WILL BE A WORSE MISTAKE THAN DOING NOTHING.he does not win BIG GAMES,LOOSES IT WHEN HIT HARD,LOOP HIS ARM WHEN HE THROWS,he will get it tore of as soon as a good defender see this. we were taught to take quarterbacks like him to the hospital or the kitchen, brady will go to the kitchen & then the hospital. BROWNS PLEASE DONOT GET BRADY WE ALREADY HAVE FRY WHO IS BETTER.

Right on! I'll be pretty happy if we pick anybody BUT quinn. Give me peterson, give me thomas, give me johnson. i wouldn't even mind if we take russell, even through i'd really rather not take a QB

Terry,my thoughts for the Browns on draft day include trading receiver Braylon Edwards for hopefully a second round pick and selecting reciever Charles Johnson with the third overall pick.Edwards has not proven that he can hold onto the ball either over the middle or on the deep route. Is he a bust?yes I believe so.As for Charles Johnson he is projected the best player in the draft and the best receiver to come out in many years.Peterson out of Oklahoma is a wonderful running back but his history of injury should scare the Browns off and go with the safe best player available theory.Drafting a quarterback with the third pick is not an option for a General Manager and Head coach who must win now.

The best Brown? Better look to this year's best free agent signing for that answer: Eric Steinbach from the Bengals. This guy is an AWESOME lineman. He can play all 3 offensive line positions with ease. Why the Bengals would let him go is a mystery that many ESPN commentators were discussing for weeks after the signing.

That boy Bodden is the truth!!! You will see.. He's going to have a break out season this year,... maybe even a pro bowl season,.. and everyone is going to be out shoppin for Bodden Jerseys. His first few years showed a lot of potential,... but with a few minor injuries and a defense that was worn out because the offense couldn't stay on the field long enough for the D to get a glass of water it put a lot of pressure on the defensive coordinator. It's not that they're defense was bad last year, they were just tired. If the Browns can get Peterson,... or someone that can move the ball and work the clock more,... the Browns are going to have a sick defense led by Leigh Bodden!!! My comments on the best Browns players Kellen Winslow Jr., because he is an incredible athlete. If he played his rookie year he would've been Rookie of the Year. They should've had Winslow Jr.'s rookie year his first full season. The other best players are Josh Cribbs, Ted Washington, Andra Davis, and Jamal Lewis.

The best players I think are on the Cleveland Browns are Brady Quinn, Jamal Lewis, Kellen Winslow Jr., Tim Carter, Joe Jurevicius, Joshua Cribbs, Andra Davis, Kamerion Wimbley Gary Baxter, Daven Holly, Eric Wright, Ted Washington, Chase Pittman, Robaire Smith, Shaun Smith, Antwan Peek, Eric Steinbach, and Joe Thomas. I think those players are the best players on their team, because they all have set goals for their team almost each year they've played.

The best player on the Browns?

Whoever punts for them this season.

I'm tired of this team's endless cycle of rebuilding with below-mediocre results. Calling me a fair-weather fan won't work; I've stuck with them through thick and thin for the last 30 years and will continue to do so. But even long-time fans are allowed to be disgusted with their team; count me as one of them.

Andra Davis should be happy Jamal Lewis is now a Brown.
Davis has consistently been non-existant against the run because he lacks quickness. He also was the middle backer when Jamal Lewis blew up the Browns 2 years ago for 500 yards.
Can't play off blocks and can't plug holes.
In order for the Browns to improve Davis should be replaced by Leon Williams.
davis is slow but yet still is able to get to the ball. there will always be that one somebody that gives us trouble that trouble for davis on that day was lewis. davis has shown over and over that hes more than able. hell hes led the team in tackles 3 of the past 4 years. what more can the browns ask for. pay the man millions and he will deliver billions. i wonder what the coaches asks of davis...
