People remembered the Vernon Gholston fiasco. Ted Ginn, Jr. bust at Miami and even heisman Troy Smith sitting on the bench in Baltimore.

Player development seems to be on a down swing at Ohio State. The top-level talent comes in but they aren't honing their skills at OSU. NFL teams come away less than impressed. Yeah, you get a few top picks but that's a product of the talent coming in, rather than what happens once they're here.

I guess you forget about Nick Mangould, AJ Hawk, James L, Donte Whittner. Plenty Buckeyes of recent have made there mark in the NFL. You cant really call Ginn a bust yet because of the offense miami ran. He made plays in the kick return game. Yeah Gholston has been a bust but you cant say Troy because most peoeple didnt expect him to
be a starter in the NFL.

Thad definitely cost himself a fortune by coming out early. He continued to improve all year as last season went on. Another year at OSU under his belt could've done him well. But hindsight is always 20-20.

Good luck Thad... It'll be good to see you in the black and gold!

(Love the Worthington pick in the 7th as well, however I would have preferred to see them draft Coleman)

unfortunately coleman will probably never see the field, thats great spitler got drafted who would a thought that? But Pittsberg had a great draft unlike the clowns. TJ Ward is a 5'10 the same size as coleman and colman was way better why the browns draft a stiff from a terrible oregon defense and no bucks is a testament to their organization and how stupid they are!

I like when the Buckeyes don't put many players in the NFL. It usually means they didn't lose many and will be loaded the next year (think 1998, 2005 & 2002)

All the draft proved is that the college PR machines can't elevate the metrics or blind NFL scouts' eyeballs. With the number of big names going so late (Colt McCoy, Jimmy Clausen, etc.), it reaffirms that it's still a crapshoot and that you're usually better staying for your senior year.

The most underrated player in the group is Jake Ballard IMHO.
If you look at his highlight reel from his career you see one circus catch after another (From 3 different QB's) with the grand finale in the Rose Bowl. An amazing player at a school that is doesn't throw to tight ends much. Good luck to all tOSU players!

Robiskie and Carpenter were recent busts, too, but Harline and Gonzalez were keepers.

Rex Ryan just moved Vernon from LB to DE, the position he played at tOSU. Maybe that will turn things around for him.

Yeah i hate to say Carpenter is a bust i just dont think he has got a fair
shot yet in Dallas or maybe i dont wanna call him a bust because he was
one of my favorite Buckeyes that played linebacker :)

I sure hope because he showed so much promise his last season at
OSU. Especially when he smashed henne in the michigan game.

Carpenter isn't a bust, but he's gotten a fair shot to play. It's hard to call a solid backup who gets a good bit of playing time a bust. It's not like he was a top 10 pick. By that definition, I think AJ Hawk is a bust. No, he's not a complete waste of space but he hasn't lived up to his draft position or his contract. On the same team you have Clay Matthews III who has far exceeded his station.

Let's be honest about Robiskie: he didn't play in an offense that honed his skills for the NFL. There's a learning curve at play. I think we'll see more this year. If he doesn't rise to the challenge then we can call him a bust.

This was a very deep draft I think Gibson would have been better served by staying for his senior year but I guess other factors were at play. Good luck to all the buckeyes O-H.
