Three might be ineligible | BuckeyeXtra

Full story: Columbus Dispatch

Pending any possible reprieve, it appears Ohio State seniors Ray Small and Rob Rose likely won't be with the Buckeyes when they take on Oregon in the Rose Bowl on Jan.

For crying out loud. Small would've been one of the 2 or 3 fastest players on the field on New Years Day.

Clearly not one of the 2 or 3 smartest.

You would think you wouldn't have to babysit these guy's to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. This kind of crap just disrupts the team and takes the focus off of the business at hand.

As they say, you can fix a lot of things, but you just can't fix stupid!!
"perfect" they are ineligible they won't need to practice.
And now, they will have all the time they need to neglect their studies and get into more trouble

Pretty neat how the media goes searching out Small's daddy for quotes. They know good and well, that Papa Small is going to take the stance that OSU is "keeping his son down" and hurting his NFL prospects.

Maybe the media should go to dufus Ray for quotes. Of course, Ray will slip in 30 "you knows" and 20 "I means" and the conversation would be as painful as nails down a chalkboard.

I agree with you completely. These young men may miss something they would have cherished all of their life.

Something missing here....I think its called "discipline".
Wonder why??????

By now, it's safe to assume that the Dispatch reporters have Papa Small on speed dial...

well, it's not like they had a snowball's chance with Small. They certainly don't without him. Looks like they'll need someone else to return Oregon's 8 or 9 kickoffs.

This happening is not new to the Buckeyes and other BSC teams; however it is overlooked by some. This is another vote for coach Tressel and his approach to coaching the game of football; undoubtably these young men have more to learn about life after football and to become contributing citizens to society.

Sometimes you just have to wonder what these guys are thinking. I mean, do they not know right from wrong ?? All they have to do is go to class, study(and they can get help with that), practice, and stay out of trouble. Is it really that difficult ??

Honestly, I would rather have someone else back there. One, because whomever that person might be will probably, at least, catch the kicks. Two, said person will run it North/South not East/West like Small always does.

Its unfortunate really, I would love to be a player that was blessed with that kind of talent to play for Ohio State. Just being a graduate of the University is great... i can't imagine what it is like to be a graduate AND a former football player.

Reminds me of another talented, yet selfish young man that tried to put himself above the team, the coaches and the university without being grateful fo the opprtunity he received. He is now gettng three squares a day and lives in a securely gated community called State Prison. Maybe Ray is campaigning to become his room mate. What a sad waste of fantastic talent.

This seems to be happening way too much for a man like Tressel to be in charge!!!!!
