The fans use thier hard earned money to go out and support the Lions, When they boo, heckle, and curse out the other team, you know you love it! They try so hard to piss off the other team, just to give the Lions a little edge but, when they get a little hostile with you, all the sudden it's not cool.Don't take things so personal! Let the fans who spend thier money on seeing a sporting event, blow off some steam. I am, and always will be a Lions Fan.

If I took my family of 4 and had to pay well over 200 dollars just to sit and watch you get your butt kicked after leading for the second week in a row going into halftime.
I might very well think I have the right to complain.

The seats down where your adult finger was lifted up to the stands had children sitting there MR. Raiola sir. The guy you wanted to flip off isn't the only one watching your adult hand gestures. Thanks for teaching my six year old the middle finger can I come over and teach your kids some new swear words too?

I spent several minutes trying to think of a meaningful comment about the Lions that hasn't already been made. Ultimately I figured out I just don't care that much.

He wasn't flipping the fans off, he was showing everyone the average number of wins per year the Lions have while he has played for them.

People in the stands will do things they would never dream of doing one on one with these players. I've seen hockey and basketball players go into the stands after fans, if you offend someone you may have to pay for it with a broke nose or worse. As far as giving the finger goes those kids in the stands probably witnessed plenty of fans doing the same not to mention cursing long before Ray raised his finger in salute.
These guys aren't girley guys, you get your butt kicked for 4 quarters by some 300 lb gorilla you shouldn't have to take any grief from some pencil neck fan.

He should mad at his team for their performance, not take his frustration of losing out on fans. The Lion's has underperformed for years and DESERVE every ounce of criticism that they get. At the end of the day, players are paid to perform. They share EQUAL blame along with the coaches and owners. I for one would like to see more finger pointing in the locker room, at least then I would know they care.

Oh wow $7500.00 whats that like 1/2 of 1% of his pay. If Ford wanted them to win, all he has to do is just donate their salary until they do.

He SHOULD have been fined, and probably more than $7500. Those fans got the right to cheer or criticize the team and/or the players when they bought a ticket.
Seems he wants to hear only positive cheering and not any criticism or negative comments. Too bad. He's a professional. He needs to learn to ignore the fans if he doesn't like what they are saying.

Let's see...

$7500 divided by the number of fans there...

....that's almost $300 each!

I love the last paragraph...

"Detroit has lost 20 of its past 21 and is 31-94 since 2001. An NFL spokesman said Monday the league was investigating."

Assuming the AP is using correct grammar and keeping like topics in the same paragraph, it is about time the NFL is investigating why the Lions stink so bad!
