The Bengals have taken a real roll of the dice with this signing. Clearly, the expectations have risen and anything less than an SB appearance will make this upcoming season a failure. That is a good thing in itself coming from a franchise that has always spoke in terms of just making the playoffs and being competitive. Raising the level of expectation both in players and fanbase will be good.
Hopefully it will pay off. If not, pull the pin and blow it up. Give Zimmer a shot at HC.

Terrell Owens.........He has been also been an egocentric pain for most of his career, so the idea of pairing him with look-at-me pal Chad Ochocinco is not without risks; some have gone so far as to predict that the two might spend more time choreographing their touchdown celebrations than they will practicing.
----------
Rumor has it that LeBron James is recruiting these two guys to be additional "has been also been " egocentric backup dancers after they retire from football.

I'm a lifelong Bengals fan, and to me, this should be a blast to watch these 2 guys on the same team. Could implode, could be a circus, but it will be anything but boring. I'm glad Mr. Brown signed him.

Bengals don't need to blow anything up (even if it does not work).
Signing TO is defintely a gamble as was drafting fatboy Andre Smith. This organization makes questionable moves all the time..some work, some do not. I personally think Marvin feels he wants to be a free agent head coach after next year anyway and if he leads the bengals to another playoff appearance, then he will be wanted by more teams. Even if it doesn't work, the Bengals have so much young talent at TE, RB, OL, and defense that they could not re-sign TO next year (and even let Chad go) and then let Zimmer be head coach with some of the left over talent. I personally feel the Bengals should try to develope Jerome Simpson, Andre Caldwell, and Desmon Briscoe instead of signing 36 year old Owens. Anyway, we'll see. Of course, if the Bengals had drafted DeShawn Jackson instead of Simpson, we probably would not be worried about TO behavior. That's what having only 3 scouts will do for you.

This move is not brilliant at all. The Bengals are pretty deep at wide reciever but what they really need is a speedy guy who can stretch a defense. I don't think they have that. Maybe somebody will emerge but Ocho and TO are don't compliment each other. They are very similar. They are also vastly overrated. Ocho has always been more of a number 2 guy and TO has definitely lost a step or two.

Carson Palmer is not a strong leader. Ocho runs amock with his sideshow antics. They're fine when the Bengals are winning but during periods of adversity he becomes a distraction and undermines the team with incessant whining and demands for the ball.

TO is the same way. Plus, his contract is incentive-based so he'll be screaming for the ball.

In short you have two guys who aren't half the players they claim to be demanding attention and bringing no leadership to the table.

Really shocking to read Bob Hunter patting a Cincinnati pro team on the back. <<written in sarcasm font>>

I just read the article to see how many times B. Hunter used the word "probably".
