Who told him he had to learn the ENTIRE playbook? He couldn't get on the field for a few packages he knew for at least few catches? Either someone @ HH told this kid to go out and fall on his sword for their draft mistake, or he really couldn't learn a handfull of plays.

bennett should have played over rashied "butterfingers" davis without question. but then again ron turner is in control of the offense and calling the shots. and everybody wonders why grossman was so horrible.

I disagree completely. I think WR is one of the easiest positions to adjust to. All they have to do is learn the plays, run, and catch the ball. There are plenty of rookie receivers that step in and make an immediate impact: Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Marcus Colston, Desean Jackson, and probably dozens more.
You named four out of how many? There is a definite school of thought out there that WR is one of the harder positions to learn. Running a route is not that simple. As is learning when to break off a rote etc... But we’re not talking about someone here who struggled a bit. Jerry Rice struggled but still caught 49 balls and was Offensive ROY. We're talking about a third round pick who didn't catch 1 freakin' ball all year! Two of the first picks last year contributed next to nothing.

I think the school of though you mentioned comes from the WR's themselves. Okay, I will just look at last year's draft for a few names.

Donnie Avery: 53 catches, 674 yds, 3 TD
Jordy Nelson: 33 catches, 366 yds, 2 TD
Eddie Royal: 91 catches, 980, 5 TD
D. Jackson: 62 catches, 912 yds, 2 TD
Harry Douglas: 23 catches, 320 yds,1 TD

My point is that a good receiver can contribute right away. It doesn't take 3 years. Bennett contributed zero his rookie year, so I am not optimistic about this season. But, the coaches know more than I do, so let them decide.

the reason to why bennett didnt play last year was because have too ignorant of an offensive coordinator to know to play over others.

I'm sure it had more to do with Turner's "offense" than Bennett's ability to learn.
I dont understand why there is so disrespect for a team that, despite many injuries, went 9-7 and came within an eyelash of making the playoffs.

i actually give more credit to the bears than what its fans do. i believe their biggest problem is ron turner because he doesnt know who to start over who, how to call an offensive play, or how to develop a qb.
