Chicago Bears' Devin Hester must show progress quickly

There are 118 comments on the Chicago Tribune story from Mar 20, 2009, titled Chicago Bears' Devin Hester must show progress quickly. In it, Chicago Tribune reports that:

Watching Devin Hester run past defenders in minicamp this week made it easy to forget that his move to full-time wide receiver last season clearly was a failure if viewed within the context of a one-year vacuum.

Did you ever think if Hester had a QB that could throw the ball, he might of had better stats? Nah! Orton is our (worhless QB) says a worthless coach and GM.

Hester lost his focus last season. Instead of concentrating on catching the ball first then flying straight up the field, he dropped balls and ran east and west. If he can regain his focus in the return game while continuing to make strides as a receiver, the ghosts of monsters past will howl in the midway!

They are sitting back helping the McCaskeys count all the money! The less money they spend on players to build a Super Bowl contender, the more they can stash.

I think if the bears were to pursue Torry Holt as a number 2 wr, that would allow the bears to draft another tackle in the 1st round. I understand holt is not the long term answer but he is still worth being a number 2

I have my doubts about Hester's ever becoming a real #1 receiver. He's really a slot guy, but the Bears do not see it. And putting him back in the return game will prove to be pointless, imho. I think his return game is shot. Thankfully we got some good returns out of Manning.

How many top flight receivers started their career as a receiver in their second year as a pro. Who in their right mind thinks he is going to be anything than fast.

that is wrong because kyle cant throw deep so he couldn't get big yardage.i still think we suck this year it will be the same as this year record wise and statistic wise. orton cant throw deep so we cant get any big plays on offense.

I once met a man, who was a bear's fan.

He would talk about ditka, he would talk about butkus. In the end, it was nothing but rubbish.

He'd talk about the midway, and ramble about urlacher.
I swear the man never knew an ounce of being a team backer:
Try going O and 16, and tell me you've been madder.
