This kid is finally putting his head with those athletic gifts. While Hester seems to be overwhelmed by his normal duties and the return game, it seems that the return game energizes Manning into excelling more on defense. Give him a contract and the keys to the defense. Let him run and blitz, and if he blows a coverage, hey, at least he can take one back to make up for it.

Good post! WTF, what happened to Hester? They should pull the plug on the "Hester as WR" experiment, hell, maybe trade him since Manning is doing so well!

Fuggit, GO BEARS! I'd love to hear the lamentation of the women in MN when the Bears win Central Division!

Manning, doing it all? Forte seems to be holding his own. Urlacher missed the pro bowl again, why exactly did he get more money? Come on Devin Hester!

Wait, a second... Are you saying, Mr. Haugh, that Danieal Manning is the primary reason the Bears are 3-0 in December? I seem to recall two game-winning field goal drives against N.O. and G.B. So don't try to feed me that garbage, Haugh. We all know that the Bears never had a single OT win much less, a game-winning, last-possession drive until John Elway, er, Kyle Orton, took over under center. So stick it, Haugh.

"The hardest player on the Bears to catch also looked like the toughest to bring down when he dragged Green Bay's Jarrett Bush nearly 25 yards on his longest return"----And had said Jarrett Bush just laid down while still clutching the arm of Mr.Manning instead of running alongside of him all that distance ,How far would he have gotten then? I get a kick out of people saying things like "He dragged 1/2 the team on that one!" IF YOU ARE LAYING ON THE GROUND YOU ARE BEING DRAGGED, IF YOU ARE STANDING UP IN FRONT, YOU'RE BEING PUSHED. IF YOU ARE STANDING UP BEHIND,YOU'RE JUST NOT IN THE PLAY.

If you would stop being single minded for a minute, actually Hester is doing well as a wide receiver. He does not have monster stats because he has not been utilized in the right receiver slot. As we all know the coaching staff leaves a lot to be desired. The Coaching staff has the right idea about Hester at Wide Receiver but they do not know how to develop him at that position properly.
Hester has the talent and the big play potential, he just needs the proper coaching to help him along and a QB who is accurate with his throws and not a supersonic cannon 100% of the time. What ever happened to the passes thrown with "touch" As all good QB can throw them and Orton Cannot!!?
Judge Hester's ability after the Bears get a real coaching staff and he is coached by "Real Coaches"!

Really? You are giving Orton credit for those wins? I guess he did lead them back, but only after he single handedly tried to give those games away. Don't forget about those very costly late interceptions in both games.

bear coaches took a long time to realize Mannings ability.

Marc Columbo signed for 4 more years... Dallas thanks the bears for developing their Tackle now and of future.

C. Benson blossoming.

so, pls do not let Brown go. even if washed up, he can be a force and leader. Let him play SS for
one more year.

Manning not my fav... too many blown plays, but, perhaps again thats the coaching element.
Let's give him a stronger look. Why not hester and manning back there same time.... two styles, gives teams twice as much to prepare for...

two styles
Manning forward, and,
Hester backwards or out of bounds????

anyway, he does scare teams it seems...

love to see them both back there ...
Hester needs to break one this week.
a MUST.

GOOD CALL MATE ...
and if the TV announcer during GB game seemed to know more about our problems at the QB position then our coaches for sure we have a problem and always have with developing QB's... what film do they study, do they tell Kyle to lock on?????

they should just blow hester straight down the field, and learn to drop in over him and into his hands ...

pick a spot (a yardage comfort zone)where Kyle can hit him ion stride and learn to throw it.

again poor coaching, not taking the natural talent, and using it properly.

it should be easy to isolate Hester somewhere on the field. most coaches would have hester with about 10 TD's this year ... granted a few precise throws would have helped up this figure as well.

ti be honest, as much as Devins lack of running one back this year and his passive running style on returns kills me, i mean as a bear fan i want someone to stay in bounds, but, i like this guy's potential. Got to give a guy a chance.

Well, I think we know that that spot needs to be inside 30 yards from scrimmage, since the Bears are the only NFL team to not have a single completion of more than 30 yards through the air this season. Let that sink in for a minute, then repeat it: The. Only. One. How's that make you feel about Orton's playmaking ability, now?

An overtime win versus the Seahawks in the play-offs in 2006. But we didn't get down the field on that game winning drive in that game by running, but rather passing. Of course, that was with that hack Rex Grossman at QB.

Ah, it was nice getting all the way to a Super Bowl. I can hardly wait until Orton does the same.

Finally this dude is playing like a high 2nd round pick (Haugh didn't mention it)...but I'm reserving judgment in putting this guy in the Bears Ring of Honor....until this year, dude has done very little...give me a consistent 5 years 'bro.

Hester! This dude is a complete mystery. I know I'm not the only Bear fan to see his hesitation on every punt....just field the ball, and run right up the middle! Why does he think he can run backwards and outrun the gunners? STUPID IDIOT!!!!
