Signing Owens would be a waste with Orton at quarterback. He can't even get the ball down the field to Hester. No use signing another receiver with long ball potential when our quarterback throws like a girl and can't make a solid throw past 20 yards. Any long reception credited to Kyle was due to YAC, and not his ability to throw. We need a quarterback....not another WR that will never have the chance to make a big play. Amazes me that the Bears are putting all their faith in a second stringer at best.

Owens is nothing but a huge pie-hole surrounded by 220 lbs. of jerk.
Like the man in the song said,"whatever he had once, is gone"
All he would do as a Bear is cash a paycheck and give Haugh and the boys someone new to write about.

As a life-long Bear fan in the heart of Cowboy country, I can tell you no amount of Tylenol would make Owens worth the trouble he causes. Avoid getting him like the flu.

It doesn't matter. The Bears obviously don't care about any of you. Why should you care about them? I've been a Bears fan for my whole life and I think I'm done until Lovie and Angelo are gone. I've never seen so much big time talent in free agency before and the Bears did NOTHING. They don't care about the fans so we shouldn't care about them. It's been like this for years and years. Now it's time for Bears fans to grow up and just worry about themselves and their family. You all are pathetic losers and I'm tired of being one of you. Bernie out, for a long time!

I'd like to see you throw farther than this "girl." I'll agree that Orton doesn't have the long ball accuracy, but don't say he throws like a girl when we all know you and I wouldn't come close to infant level going by your scale.

get off the TO issue and move on you need a QB and offencethat can block long enough the find and open man. Oh i forgot lets not forget the defence when the points are on the board and we are really ahead. lets not forget the 11 sec win by the other team unless TO can play defence.

I like Heyward-Bey for the Bears and think he and Matt Forte can both star for the Bears.

Mr. haugh, you actually said something that made sense only though your intentions were for it to imply some thing else.you said every time kyle orton may under throw T.O. as I am sure there will be many many passes in the upcoming season that T.O. would ger frustrated and yell at orton and tht it's not good for the confidence of young QB.first of all Orton is not a young QB he has been in this league four years.secondly all of a sudden we should worry about a QB's confidence have you forgotten what we put another young QB who recently became an ex Bear thru or is orton so special that he should be sheltered and not even scrutinized by a proven super star like T.O.

What exactly are the Bears developing? The only thing Bears fans have right now is a false hope in having a half way decent year coming up. Do any of us really think we are going to be able to compete with Green Bay and Minnesota? I just hope we can finish ahead of the Lions. I pray that Angelo makes me eat my words...but I highly doubt it.

Let me get this straight. some of you want TO? erfect, Kyle Orton lining up with Hester and TO on the outside. One who's only value is as a speedster running deep routes, and a 2nd who is 35 and his only interest is catching deep TD passes in as flamboyant a fashion as possible. Perfect for a QB who's game is 5-10 yard dump-off passes. Just perfect. But on another board I saw someone say they should hhave signed TO instead of Jones, so maybe TO has agreed to play back-up RB now!?

I actually ave changed my mind. I like that thinking. Get TO and by the 3rd game of the season we will be benching Orton and maybe have to try and find a true starter.

This post did not make it yesterday in regards to "Safety Options Shrinking" so I am posting it here.
Kurt well said in regards to Angelo's blunders. Let me add one more if not the biggest blunder of all, the trading of Chris Harris, the talented safety which has left a big hole in our defense. I cannot understand how the Bears four years ago had the most talented defensive backfield in the NFL, starters and backups and end up today in this situation. Well Jerry maybe you can make up for it by signing Ex Buccaneer SS Dexter Jackson he definately knows the system and by the way if your not aware he did earn a Super Bowl MVP. And for the fans how about mending things with the true leader of the "D" Mike Brown. But big mistake letting Chris Harris and Thomas Jones go, that was the start to a downward spiral. And by the way Mr. Philips did you see what Bernard Berrian did with the Viqueens, shame on this organization. Well I don't see why you don't at least bring Brandon Lloyd back, up until he got hurt he seemed to have chemistry with Orton, and I believe the chemistry get's even better with time in football, is that not fact Mr. Philips and Angelo. As the gentleman above wrote, give the fans something at least to hold their head up.
One last thing why have you not brought in OT Khalif Barnes I think you may have confused the Jacksonville offensive lineman. He would be a upgrade to St. Claire.

TO is exactly what this sleepy franchise needs. * He would definitely shake up the offense; giving them someone that could catch passes, run routes, and keep sleepyhead Turner focusing on attacking the opposing defense rather than running fullbacks at the forty yard line for two yards on fourth down. * He would also show the young, never coached properly, receivers what it takes to make plays. * AND it would force Orton to throw the ball to a spot, because he would know his receiver would ACTUALLY be where they were supposed to be. * It would affect the defense because: they wouldn't like him showing them up, and they wouldn't have to worry about giving up a touchdown knowing that they had an offense on the bench to back them up. * It would also affect that mummified front office that acts like a sloth and doesn't seem to want to become and stay one of the premier franchises in pro football. We all know how weak their scouting staff is, maybe seeing a REAL receiver in person they might learn something, * We all knew that them going to the Superbowl a few years ago was a freak and that they had no chance to win. With TO would they have won that game?
Does being a Bears fan include the stipulation that you don't want jerks playing for the team even thought that jerk would give you more wins????
Isn't winning the most important thing in Pro Sports? Is TO a jerk and a baby? Yes. Is he more talented than anything the Bears have? YES
Sign him!!!
