Im not fooled by anything .
YAC How do we get yAC when all our receivers fall down after the catch except Forte ?****
Orton tied for 8th in the conference in passes over 20 yards and pre injury he was top 5. Whats amazing reading these comments for the entire season is that some of you are delusional not all buy some of you are .
In August no way we throw for over 7 yards now its we dont throw for over 30 yards ? Since when was the BOMB ever apart of this teams gameplan . Unless you are telling me you considered hester to be a 80+ catch receiver when the season started . Who were these deep threats as hester is the only one with speed to get downfield but he can go from spectacular catch to dropped gimme in a heartbeat.
This was a developmental year going in on the offense we knew this now all of a sudden people are now saying they expected Brees like numbers and its ridiculous .
2985 yard and playing with injury and our own resident project as his top wideout.Imagine how bad it wouldve been if Forte couldnt catch the ball.
I want the long ball I like the long ball but our objective this year was to develop Forte,Hester,Olsen, and Orton and I think we did that.
the offense held up its end of the deal for the most part the defense is what let us down .No one figured this offense would do anything but we averaged 23 ppg without the benefit of leading the league in defensive td's or special team scores .
Its a start and now we should expect even more growth from the group and add a couple of more weapons to it.
Im not saying Orton is a franchise QB but but hes earned a shot with more weapons next year at least. If we find a stud Im great with it but you dont stop development of your current QB until you are sure you have that stud.
like i said, the bears got you man.

Every stat, Orton beats grossman in, look at my previous posts. Rex had Berrian and Muhammad and still was horrible. Orton has nobody and is at least mediocre. The stats dont lie, and Orton is better.
With the important exception of Super Bowl appearances! Which last time I checked was kind of an important stat!

Attention Orton Haters. I'm not made at you Orton haters because your just doing your job. You can talk Rex all day long and it means nothing. I think KO did a hell of a job not haveing any wideouts to throw the ball, no line to protect him and not to mentions the D-line that have been suspect all season long. Orton does a better job when he audibles, because he's not getting a predictible call thats coming from the sidelines that a blind man on the other team can guess. We have gotton rid of our starters WR's last year and you haters expect Orton to come in and bling. Yall are truly football idiots at best. You can compare stats all day long with other rookies, Flacco, Ryan but their line protected them. I guess you wouldn't know that since you so stuck on Rex and don't watch how their defense don't give up the game in the last minutes. The CB don't play 9 to 10 yards deep on the wideout almost every play. They MLB don't pretend to blizt on 90% of the plays. They have a decent WR corp. Rex didn't take our team to the Superbowl, it was our D-line and Special Team you idiots. Rex had WR's that have been to the pro-bowl and knew how to get seperation and catch a deep ball. You haters keep on doing your job and hating.
but wait a minute...why do you compare him to the same guy that you booed off the field? Stop comparing him to rex and compare orton to the top 10 qbs in the league. Dont compare your orton with other bad qbs. If he is good then compare him with the good.

I find it humorous that all these Rex fans keep bringing up Orton's tendency to stare down a receiver when Rex was the king of the staredown.
i agree with you on that. If rex didnt stare down the wide outs he would be better. Orton would just be angry that his genetic make up denies him the ability to make a throw to a wr downfield. lol But rex does have many issues.

This is Orton's second full season. He started 15 games in 2005. He has 3 less career starts then Grossman, you clearly know absolutely nothing.

are you an orton backer ****. you would be. I really think that you and your justifications are so lame. Your hope in a bad qb makes me laugh. Orton sucks and you gotta stop letting the bears franchise control your pea sized brain.
Wow, another dummy who cant read or comprehend. I never said Orton was great. he is better than rex and in my post you responded to I said that, that is like bragging you are the tallest midget. Ortons the bottom of the barrel of QB's in the NFL. But he is still stat wise better than Rex. Why dont you read before putting words in my mouth.

Doesnt even matter, do you remember the QB's from the Ravens and Tampa when they WON the superbowl? Cuz of the top of my head I dont, and they dont start anywhere now, and I am doubtful that they still play. Like these teams a good running back and great defense carried this team.

The proof will be next year when Orton proves once and for all he is not an NFL starter.

Look for the Bears to bring in someone to compete with Sir Neckius Beardius. If they do not they are the worst organization in professional sports.

Men it is time that you ask more from the Bears. Orton is probably a great guy but he is the latest in a long line of below average QB's that this franchise has put forth. If the Bears front office is not smart enough to draft and develop a quality QB; go on the open market and get a proven free agent. Matt Cassell is more athletic and has an NFL arm. He has also be developed by an organization that (at least in recent years) knows the position.

I will take Matt Cassell if he brings Wes Wlker,Randy Moss and Bill Belicheck over as the Head Coach.

Defense Defense Defense was the problem with this team again and again.

Let's not forget about the "Multitude" of passes downfield that Hester never adjusted to. There are very few, if ANY, QB's that throw on a dime 40-50 yards downfield. A WR needs to adjust to long throws, which Hester is incapable of doing. The ball isn't going to simply drop into his hands, he needs to react to the ball and adjust to it. There are variables such as wind, throwing on the run, etc. Don't place the blame solely on Orton, he had a lot of help in incomplete passes this year!!
What? How does a receiver adjust to a ball when it is 20 yards too short,15 yards too long,In the dirt or 15 yards over their heads!!!! Hester has improved nicely and bailed out Kyle several times on bad passes! Orton is no better than a back-up,period. He has had his chance to show what he has. He has been here 4 years, with two seasons to start. He is flat out mediocre and cant make the long pass. We definitely need receiver help, but Orton is Orton! How many of our receivers had over 500 yards receiving(which is terrible production anyway)?? I also think Kyle selfishly played hurt which hurt the team. Because he didnt want Rex to play & maybe outshine him! Orton should at least have to battle Hanie for the job next year! Orton is far from good enough to just be handed the job next season. Thats some incentive to improve, with no competition. I want to see more of Hanie. He showed the skills quite well in preseason. I know it was pre season. But he showed great pocket presence. He ran well when things broke down,he could throw downfield with a strong arm. After this coming season Hanie will have two years on the bench learning. We should see what we have with him. Babich needs to be replaced,Now! I have to say I enjoyed 2006 with Rex,more than this year with Orton! That doesnt mean I want Rex back. We need a Q.B who can get the ball down field. Maybe just have Orton play next season, then move him to Back-up. Have a guy to replace him after next year (maybe Hanie or a free agent signing)..Take care fellow Bear fans! Lets hope for a better 2009! GO BEARS,GOOD LUCK IN 2009!!

The defense was very inconstistent I will give you that. They need to make a few adjustment; one might be first rate safety as well as run stuffing MLB. Having said that, I would like to overhaul the whole team. Since that is a fantasy, we need to concentrate on the most important position on the field of course Paul that is Quarterback. You are a fan of Sir Neckius Beardius and I am confident I will not change your mind BOTTOM LINE with few exceptions, average OB average TEAM. Look for Bears to go 8-8 and that is if Orton improves!!
