Jerry has to build a draft strategy to compensate for all the misses and errors of his past drafts.

Imagine how good the Bears would be if they drafted and coached well!

please people get off the QB need. Give KO a chance. If he is given half the chances that were given to the WORTHLESS WRECKS GROSSMAN he will prove that he is our QB of the future. We need people that can block, tackle, and most importantly, catch the football when thrown to them. All the dropped passes were blamed somewhat on KO and I think its a little unfair, I know he is not manning or brady, but if he had players that could actually catch he would have looked as good as he should have looked

Sanchez only played one year for USC, what the hell has he proved? He only came out because the QB turnout was very poor and he felt he has a chance to be a first rounder. He doesn't want to go against all the others next year when it will much stronger. He might be the first QB taken this year which is good for him but if he waits till next year then he won't be taken till the third round and probably the 5-6th QB taken. Alot of dollars difference to him. He is far from being a first round QB, he didn't win any games for USC because they were just too good for most others. When you have a payroll like USC they can win a lot of games. Saying the Bears should take him is foolish, he is no Manning or even a Breeze. Use top picks for lineman and receivers.

With the right system, he could be another Breeze. but i agree they need to focus on OL, FS and possibly a versatile fullback.

Kyle Orton is not the future. He is absolutely terrible. I dont care if his receivers are the best, that doesnt matter, you think if he had TO, TJ Housh, Boldin, Fitz, he would turn into this hall of Fame QB. It makes me laugh everytime someone says he has no one to throw to. He had 2 games this year with a QB rating over 100, rex had that in the first month in 06, Kyle Orton is such a poor choice at QB its not even funny anymore. This guy has been in one too many article this year already, only one more article needs to be written about this guy and its the one where he gets CUT.

Stop the madness. We don't need to draft a mediocre QB with our first pick. we've got our mediocre QB in Orton. So many more pressing needs. Forget about backup running back too. our defense was an embarrassment, and we lost Brown. We need a safety, we need a defensive end, we need a cornerback...On offense, we need a WR, and offensive linemen.

Still praying we get some offensive guys in FA. Want to use our first pick on the D. I think we will get the best value for that pick if we go defense.

so far this article did not tell us anything we haven't been hasing around ... we all wish we were the GM in this case ... definitely O-LINE !!!

unless, a can't pass up DE, WR, or DB...

if we are drafting a QB for the future, hopefully it is not this year.
but usintg the
2nd round pick for Josh, good idea, unless ~~ we did not get 1 of the above in the first round.

it only makes sense to get a veteren WR and S (lots of safties were drafted between 2005-07 in the 1st round, contracts have to be coming due...

and a veteran RB rather than draft...

btw, what happened to our back up in Jones at RB ... he didn't really pan out did he.

anyway, lets not draft guys with a history of injury like we did last year. and slow. go for speed. that's always an upside.

GET AN o-lineman 1st Rd, can't go wrong there.

Yeah let's draft a rookie QB in the first round. Then you just know that there will be calls to start him by mid-season at the latest. So then throw him in there with Williams at LT and some schmuck at RT now that Tait is retiring. Lambs to the slaughter much?

Hi everyone: I hardly think you can call Sanchez a Steal. He only played 16 games, and he had a great team around him at U.S.C. To me,he is the biggest Question mark/risk out there. He will definitely be gone by #18. This is not a good year for us to find a franchise Q.B. They are far & few between out there. Many franchise Q.B's are found late or by surprise. I think thats why we should spend this season seeing what we have in Hanie. We might have our young Q.B right here! Last offseason I thought Hanie looked as good or better than Kyle or Rex,in preseason. Hanie showed all the tools,he also has a year in the system now. So have Hanie compete with Orton,so we can see how good Hanie can be. Even if Orton wins & starts this year(which he probably will). We will know if Hanies our Guy,for the future. Then, next year with 2 years in the system and Ortons contract up,Hanie can start for us in 2010. It depends obviously on how Hanie plays this preseason. Maybe its a blessing there isnt much out there this year. Cause it will force us to look closer at Hanie, rather than overlook the kid. And then he ends up good on another team. We really need to to see how much Hanie has, maybe he is the next Tom Brady(who knows). He showed a strong accurate arm. He had good pocket presence & awareness. I like how he kept plays alive with his feet and scrambled well, when there was nothing there. He looked pretty comfortable as well. Have Basanez in the # 3 spot,so he can learn the system this year. Then he can back up Hanie by next year. Then hopefully that will give us 2 good young Q.S's. Dont get me wrong,I am NOT crowning the kid yet. I am just saying he has shown enough,to deserve a shot to compete and see what we got in him. Please,No More Mediocre or Old washed up Q.B's in Chicago! This is just my Humble opinion, though. Take care fellow Bear fans.

Nope. He's a wonderful backup, but he's had plenty of chances to prove he's their QB of the future. The reason Rex, or "WRECKS" (not really clever or funny, "Indy") was given every chance to succeed is that they invested a lot in him (1st round pick, injury rehabilitation, etc.) and he "teased" them with what he was able to do at times. Sign Leftwich as a stop gap. Draft Sanchez if he's there. Additionally, the Bears were right in the middle of the pack as far as number of dropped passes.

The Bears need at least two Offensive Linemen out of this draft, and it would be great to get someone who can step in and start with the 18th pick. A new QB won't help if there isn't anyone to block up front.

No! No! No! No! No!

Do any of these experts see the big picture? Sanchez commanded what was basically a collegiate all-star team. Before Orton got hurt, he played great! It wasn't the offense last season. Doesn't anybody see that!? The October 18 game against Minnesota almost went into overtime, and the Bears scored 48 points!

This team needs to win now and they have enough to make one more serious run before they have to rebuild again. The Bears need to plug the holes they have in order to do that, not draft another QB!

He didn't play great... he had two big games against the Lions and Vikes. I want better for this team.

grossman probably did have a higher rating. he also had ten times the talent at reciever than orton did. the bears werent smart enough to realize hester aint a number one reciever and that earl bennett should of played over rashied "butterfingers" davis. they also dont have anyone to call an offense, develop somebody a QB, or even have anyone to protect the QB.
