your late for class too. Only a fool would trade Urlacher. He is not a has been, and is currently rated by most folks within the top 5-7 MLB's in the league. Urlacher no fool, he knows who keeps him off the field. Lets be real here. Wade's talking smack. ANd so what if Urlacher and Cutler got into it, hell, who doesn't get into it when playing sports? It's called fire. OK, Fire away !!!

Haugh, just how stupid are you writing something like this? Even if Urlacher thought this he is smart enough not to say it to someone else. And what do you think a jerk like Wade would say? Wade couldn't catch the ball when he was here and couldn't do the job so don't you think he has a bone to pick when he gets a chance? Just writing something like this questions your journalism credibility. You have none. Somebody says something and you write it without any verification to back it up. Where did you learn your values of professional journalism?

I was shocked to hear B. Wade was still in the NFL...completely shocked, befuddled, bewildered, baffled, etc...seriously, does Wade still play?

Cutler's never won 11 games in a season at any level. What makes people think he will with the Bears?
Just to spite Bob from Gurnee. Reason enough, butt head?

Maybe if people were as passionate about this country as they are about football, we wouldn't be in such dire straits.

Folks, we should get our priorities in order.

Why is this news? I'm not interested in tabloid journalism. Doesn't the media report sports anymore? Is this a soap opera, or reality tv? Who cares what these guys do in their own time?

The only thing I am interested is in is that they put in the work, that the 53 guys have one goal in mind stay focused and work as one, and that they produce a win on Sunday which will give me some reason to handle Monday morning.

People thought the same thing about Steve Young when he started 3-18.

Not saying that Cutler is the next Steve Young but let's wait until the guy finishes his NFL career before we drop judgement.

Two things I know about Urlacher, and I haven't ever met the man. 1) He's not stupid, and 2) He doesn't talk smack, especially about his own teammates. You can bet this stuff is being stirred up because Chicago is clearly the odds on favorite this year. Everyone is getting pumped and I'm sure the players smell blood. The other teams in the division will grasp at ANY straw in the hopes of sowing dissent, and creating any kind of disruption they can. Good luck with that.

No problem trading Urlacher for a #3 or #4 pick in the draft.

Shut up and tackle somebody, Urlacher. For years, you praised the talents of Rex Grossman. That shows your ability to evaluate QB talent. The only thing you know about a QB is that you can't sack one.

Starting up already, eh? What is with you idiot so-called Chicago sports writers? Why you trying to fabricate negativity before the season even starts? You make think this is reporting but it is not and why would you listen to someone on another team?

Just like in late Feb. when Cubs/Sox non-stories lead every sportscast and the playoff-bound Bulls and Blackhawks get bumped. It's all about the latest thing.

Boobby Wade is a bum and drops balls and his contributions to his team are marginal at best.I blame the Broncos fiasco on a dumb owner who let a young and dumb coach unprofessionally create a situation detrimental to the whole teams future and chemistry.Urlacher talks as if hes retarded, hes the stereotypical dumb jock who should be playin and not talkin because is good at playing football and sticks his foot in his mouth more than joe biden and frank thomas combined....Shut up and play football P.S GOOD LUCK DENVER WITH YOUR NEW EINSTIEN COACH AND QB,LETS TALK AGAIN AFTER THE SEASON....

LOL best comment of the bunch... Urlacher is mediocre at best, he had a few good seasons but now he couldn't tackle Adrian Peterson's grandmother. So we get another season of watching him cut left when the play goes right, or maybe chasing (insert any running back name here) downfield and again losing that race.

WHAT in the frick is this column about? Is this really where sports journalism has gotten? It's like listening to my little nieces cackle.

Maybe this "news"paper could start a new policy: when NOTHING happened the day before just show the columnist's face on the home page with a note "today's column was postponed because nothing happened."

"... any middle linebacker will learn to get along famously with a quarterback who instantly makes his team worthy of Super Bowl consideration."

- D Haugh

This is true if the goal of the linebacker is for the TEAM or for HIMSELF.

In this day and age, it's not always clear WHERE a player's motivation lies. This has been especially true of Urlacher.
