Jay Cutler to Devin Hester: Already in sync

Full story: Chicago Tribune

One play into Wednesday's full-team Bears scrimmage session confirmed the most interesting bit of progress at Halas Hall still three months before the 2009 season-opener. Jay Cutler glided back into a seven-step drop, set his feet in a pocket protected by left tackle Orlando Pace , and peered downfield where wide receiver Devin Hester had gotten a ...

You guys are all so stupid thinking this flake is going to help the Bears. He is so completely opposite of real Bear players like Sayers, Payton, Butkus. This poser should be named Julie.
Commonsense, you should consider a name change to NOSENSE or NONSENSE.
You obviously know nothing about recognizing quality at the QB position. Cutler will make you look your part of the moron as soon as the season starts. GET A LIFE, AND STOP MAKING A FOOL OF YOURSELF!!!9394

Hello fellow Bear fans. There sure is a great feeling in the air about this year, isnt there? I like to hear the optimism and excitement from fellow Bear fans. Rather than dreading the season, not making any moves,or hoping your mediocre Q.B can overachieve! I am really pumped-up. I wouldnt mind signing a veteran receiver if a good one gets released, which could happen. If we dont I feel good about what we have & think there are some reliable weapons for Cutler on our team. Along with Cutler,we have a very good O-Line now as well. We already had a very good running game,it will be even better now, without the 8 man fronts. Forte is a great receiving option as well. Kevin Jones is 100% & apparently looks like his old self,so that will be a great 1-2 punch. Cutler also has 2 of the better T-ends in Clark & Olsen(pro bowl bound). Plus his old college teammate Earl Bennett, who is ready in his 2nd year & already knows Cutler. Iglesias, considered one of the best slot receivers in the draft, should be ready in his 1st year. He is coming along great, has great hands & runs great routes,he is really smart. Then there is Johnny Knox who runs a 4.3 in the 40,runs good routes and has great hands. He is my surprise pick, that will contribute alot. They were saying in OTA's that he has been the most impressive so far. He is blazing fast, and is catching everything & running crisp routes. Brandon Rideau has played well when on the field,he has several years in the system now. Then Derek Kinder, some say could be a steal. He dropped in the draft due to a past injury, that is healed now. But He would have went higher he is a good receiver as well. So I believe that Cutler has some weapons to utilize when he needs them. We are a running team,so its not like we are looking to air it out all day. Sorry to ramble on so long. Take care fellow Bear fans. BEAR DOWN!! GO BEARS,2009 DIVISION CHAMPIONS!!
Thanks for the excellent assessment of our team's potential. I was traded from the Broncos with Cutler, and I am really looking forward to the upcoming season, as a brand new Bear's fan. Now, if I could just find someone who is interested in 45 years worth of Bronco momentos.

lksouth,
Fans like you make me sick. Any fan that switches their allegiance after 45 years because of a potentially bad season is no fan at all!! However, Im not surprised. I wouldn't expect anything less from the fair-whether fans of Denver and Charlotte.

If they can actually connect to Hester deep everygame, that's going to force more deep coverages, opening up the middle for a TE slant. Olsen is going to be looking at 100 receptions. Forte should be running all over the field.

Again, you must be on the Bear's payroll. No kidding, they are deep at LB and TE, which was a waste of money in the off season. They need WRs.
Oh yeah, and the bottom line on the defense is that the scheme, the cover 2 too damn late, sucks no matter who is in it.
Have you seen the future? The answer is NO! You or anyone else don't know how the season is going to turn out to be.

But I am most concerned about the safety. The ineptitude of the Archuleta experiment detailed how a play could get blown up without the right safety back there. Hey, I'm a Bear fan, but you have to realistic. Cutler doesn't walk on water. He's not a miracle worker. Ths Bears have uproven wide receivers, including Devin Hester. Sure they potential. Every team in the NFL can say that. They need a proven NFL receiver to work on the other side of Hester. That would take the pressure off of him and allow him to develop receiving skills, which he really doesn't have, yet. Hopefully Angelo and the scouts are eyeballing some candidates...ideally a big wideout with some height. Then we'll be ready to go to war.
TJH- Seriously, you have to start somewhere. Meaning, it was time the Bears STOP using referring to their QB's as "Adequate" and "servicable".
(NO offense) but any fool knows that you have to build an with skilled people at the skill positions. The Bears have went too long w/o a Quality skilled QB, Angelo saw a chance and took it. just shake my head at folks trying to curb Bear fans enthusiasm for the guy, l o l we know he can't walk on water, Heck i just hope he's able to hit a WR in-stride.

Really It's ok for Bear fans to (COLLECTIVELY) feel good about the QB position. I think we understand the risk/reward factor TJH

Cutler is potentially the best Bear QB in my lifetime...potentially. Got no problem with the move to acquire him. Just not sure he's going to be as effective as he would be with at least one NFL receiver. My point is that they shouldn't just assume that Cutler is going to make all of the receivers better. Nobody knows that. On paper, they're very inexperienced by NFL standards. Give him at least one proven wideout and let the others develop. They've done a great job in shoring up the 0-line and finally getting a franchise-type QB. Don't stop there. Finish the deal and get Cutler a proven weapon. Plax would be great.

Actually, I have to disagree my child. I do know the future I have seen it,look into my crystal ball child. I will tell you for free Skippy boy. But dont go telling all your friends now. This is secret info for you only. Cutler is going to continue his pro bowl status and have many dominating years with the Bears. He will have a super career,I see ten years or so. I see two young receivers on this team that will emerge as stars. I see the Bears winning their division and are in the playoffs. I see something Super but things get blurry at this time,on my crystal ball. Check back later and it should come to me. I see something else. You are bending over, there is some other man there. OOPs,I guess I better not go there, sick my boy, just sick yuuk. Good luck their Skippy Boy.

In the off season we adressed the o-line, made some moves on defense, drafted a few pass catchers, and changed the atmosphere surrounding the team by dealing for Cutler, all this after going 9-7 the year prior. What am I missing? Even if Hester and Jay don't mesh right away, whose to say they won't as the season progresses? Chicago at GreenBay. That's the time to start evaluating Cutler's impact on our team. Right now, just enjoy a ridiculously productive off season.
