I'm glad he's back with the team now. His style is the perfect offset to dmc. Just when you think it's another dmc run, it's a quick wham to reece up the middle for a 15 yd firstdown. Sounds like music to my ears so just imagine watching it. He's a mismatch nightmare for any team to defend. What looks like a 2wr set is actually a 3 wr set. Now the defense is stuck in their base D with a lb or safety trying to cover his ability & versatility. Nightmare! I see big things in 2012 for raider nation.

Probably having flashbacks of how we did the division the last two years. Knowing we would've swept ya'll again lastyear had it not been for the injury bug. Na, it ain't that. It's just you realizing that ya'll gotta play us again & chances are we won't be hurt & we both already knows the outcome of that."Thats what it is." Them people you seeing & smelling ain't dead, it's just your team stinks. Lol! Just another Raider hater. We don't hate we Just Win Baby!!!

Welcome NJ Raider 1!!!
Marcel Reece is really good, potntially could be a beast for us, if used properly. Glad the Raider brass re-signed him. We may surprise some people this year. Might even steal the division.

Thanx 4 the welcome raiderfaith! It feels good hearing from another blackhole faithful. I'm from New Jersey & there ain't too many of us out here, but to what you said, I don't think we gotta steal the division, honestly! Our D was the problem lastyear. Too much man 2 man when we didnt have the personnel for that. Beside the fact our DC was chuck bresnahan. Say nomore!! We would've made the playoffs lastyear with a depleted roster & a qb that didn't know the playbook had it not been for defensive play calling. With d mac back & carson working with his wr's for a whole offseason & D.Allen constructing the defense, we'll walk into the playoffs. 3-4 hybrid defense, more zone. We got the pieces too make a real run at it. Everybody healthy, spells trouble 2012 opponents!

A big factor will be getting Carson to buy in to making betterdecisions. He is an INT machine and has been his whole career. He is a downgrade from Campbell...don't believe it? Look how well Campbell played before he got hurt. Campare that to Carson...granted Carson came in off the couch to a new team and all that goes with it. But Campbell made far less mistakes. A lot lower int total too. That all, said I support Carson, I just hope he cuts down on int's.

If you have to, go back & watch him from lastyear. More than half those int's were on receivers. Either running the wrong route on option routes or falling down on cut I.e jacoby ford in the san diego season ender. Perfect pass & he fell down, int. Not to mention he never played 1 gm with the same line up. & yea campbell didnt make as many mistakes, but he also didn't take as many chances. Campbell is what he is, a check down QB. Before campbell went down it was the mcfadden show. Carson didnt have that luxury. Bush was good, but dmc is great when not injured. Ford missed 6 gms, murphy missed 5 & moore missed 5 & he still threw for nearly 3,000 yds in really only 8 gms. He's still an elite QB. Don't let lastyear fool you. When the last timewe had a franchise QB? Rich gannon & he took us to the championship.

I think Carson might even be better than Gannon.

He seems a little arrogant in his interviews though....this worries me.

We'll find out in a few months if Carson is really putting in the effort. He definitely needs to cut down on INT's but I also agree with NJ--I saw 4-5 INT's last year that were not his fault. I think the INT's will go down naturally with him having an off season to work with the WR's. I have to say though, this west coast offense has me a little worried with Carson.

I am glad to have Reece signed. I don't think there was ever any doubt though.

As much as I like Taiwan and Goodson, we still needed a big bruiser......and now we have him.

I'd like to offer you a welcome here too.
I don't look at stats too much (unless I'm scouting fantasy football players). It's just as much a qb'S job to throw to the WRs as it is for the WRs to run the right route. I look mainly at one thing to determine success and that is wins. Campbell out did Palmer in that department so that is why I felt Campbell was better than Palmer. However, Palmer is good and I'm willing to give him a chance but like RF said, he's been a turnover machine a good bulk of his career.

look further back in carson's career he always throws a ton of int's. So last season was just more of the same. He has talent, its just mentalky he needs help. Campbell did benefit fron mcfadden, bt you can win more easily with a qb that doesn't make many mistakes. I realize a lot of people lije carsob, but if I had my choice, i'd rather Campbell

Those are Palmers INT's the last 5 seasons he has played. 16( was 9 games) 4(was 4games) rest were full seasons...bottom line, he has to make better decisions.

Why do u think we were able to win with bush? B cuz carson stretched the field which in return kept the safties back so he could have running lanes. Palmer threw for more ypg. The offense didnt kick in gear till palmer was under helm. As far as carson of the past, yea he threw his share of picks, but all that is moot when u make more big plays then u do int's & thats what he did. Look I'm grateful for what campbell did for the team, but we wasn't going far with him checking down everytime he drops back. He got hurt from holding on to the ball to long & we can't blame it on the O-line cuz they played good lastyear for a change. The saying goes"to whom much is giving, much is expected." Campbell's stats speak for themselves. U can't expect much from someone that ain't giving. Lol! My lil twist on the meaning of the phrase. We can go back & forth with campbell & palmer. The fact is we got palmer & not only that, but we got a team for once. The only real problem positions are NT, MLB & that might not be much of a problem being we switching to a3-4, & I'm not worried about the last one cuz of the defensive scheme, but CB. We have a nucleus of good players to build around & carson heads the list until pryor is ready.

yes but bush also had a mediocore year as far as rb's go. I am not saying carson doesn't have talent, just saying I would rather a qb that made less mistakes even at the cost of some flash.

I liked Jason Campbell too. I was pretty happy with the way he was playing to start the season last year.....especially his ability to scramble. But I think it's important to note that he did not look NEARLY as good in 2010--his first year in Oakland. He was mediocre at best and some games not even THAT good. He throws less INT's than Carson, that's for sure. But that's because he plays it safe whereas Carson throws downfield and tries to make things happen. Carson had a lot of pressure on him last year and will have even more this year.

Considering Carson's INT's.......he can walk onto the field and hand the ball to the other team (average) twice per game and still average 300 yards passing per game and average 20 points on the board. I think that speaks volumes.

I'm more of a Defense person. I firmly believe that any time your team puts 20-28 points on the board, you should win the game.....period. That should be enough to win any game. Our defense should not be allowing more than 21 points ever. I know I'm a little outdated--the NFL is changing rules all the time to increase scoring and make the game more "interesting".

we do!!! Ha! Honestly though google campbell vs. palmer silverandblack.com di an analysis and truth told there #'s are vrry similair. Differencr being campbell benefitted from a run game but campbell also was better when pressured. I am optomistic for this season. We likely will have some new system errors, but over all should be a good seadon.

Kerry Collins threw 12 & 20 INTs with us when he was the main starter...We won 9 games those two years

Palmer threw 16 INTs with us last year

Campbell threw 4 INTs with us last year & 8 in 13 games the year before.

Each QB won 4 games last year. campbell got 6 starts, palmer got 9 starts. I think INTs play a major role in the outcome of a game. As a matter of fact, some of the games Palmer started should've been wins and I think could've been wins with Campbell. However, there are some games that can be blamed on defensive let downs too.

Point is I look at our turnover machines of the past and compare Palmer to him vs the guy he replaced and it seems to me that Campbell is more competent as far as ball control goes.

What u call ball, I call can't read a defense pre snap. Campbell is the check down king. He was in washington, he was wit us & he gon be in chi. Palmer won 4gms lastyear coming off the couch with no knowledge of the offense at all. We could've picked up montana when campbell went down & unless he was familiar with the offense hew was gon struggle. Bush started off very good for us, but as the year went on & teams realized put 8 in the box cuz bush can't hit the outside, everything fell on palmers shoulders to make sweet lemonade outta rotten lemons. Campbell threw 13 tds 2010 palmer threw as many tds in only 9 gms. Campbell didn't have to make mistakes, he had mcfadden to check down to every play. Carson got the wrs involved. Our offense was bad as a high school if it weren't for mcfadden.
