Welcome home Donnie, and boy do you have some LB to play with. With Derrick Johnson and Napolin Harris
playing, it looks like Kiwike Mitchel will be on the free agents block and now has lost any leverage he might of had for a new contract or a starting job.
When Jerad Allen get over getting his feelings hurt because his agent is a fool and pumped him full of you are the greatest bull, he will settle down and sign, and it will take place in the next ten days or so. this will give K.C. a pass rush unmatched in the NFL at this time. What about the run, well with donnie
in the middle and tamba Hali and Jerad Allen on the ends, with Johnson and Harris either backing them up or dropping off, the run should be tough yards to get. Look for K.C 's D to be in the top three this year. Now for the offence.Don't look for the throw first type of offence, but rather a pounding and clock management type of attach. Edwards is from the old school of run and pass only when it 3rd.and long, and sometimes not even then. K.C. front line isn't what it was two years ago and 2006 was proof of that. Look for them to draft O linemen . with Larry Johnson running, and you heard it first,Priest Holmes return, along with Micheal Bennett, K.C. will run, run, run. Herms Edwards main game plan is simple ,wear the other team out and run over them. There are a few players who have their foot out the door. they are William Bartee,Kendrell Bell,Dee Brown, along with several others who havn't panned out and proved that talent isn't worth a dime without heart. Herms office will be busy long before training camp is over.He can spot a slacker a mile away.stay tuned and watch .

smartest thing the chiefs did was resign huard. if he had started all year, the chiefs were probably the top wildcard. why they stuck with Greene after he returned and was completely ineffective is beyond me. but thanks.

hOW DO YOU THINK CHIEFS RE-SIGNING HUARD IS A GOOD THING? HERM HAS ALREADY SAID CROYLE IS HIS MAN IF THATS THE CASE GREEN SHOULD BE BACK UP. HOW CAN YOU FAULT GREEN FOR THE PLAYOFFS? IN EFFECTIVE LET'S SEE YOU TAKE THE VISCIOUS HIT HE TOOK AND WANT TO PLAY. GREEN HAS A BIG HEART AND IS A VALUABLE PLAYER. I DO BELIEVE HIS NUMBERS WERE A CLOSE SECOND TO PAYTON MANNING. COME ON NOW GET SERIOUS.

Green took a vicious hit, I agree. but he wasn't the same in all the games he played after, not just the playoff loss. Sure that hit had alot to do with it, you make my point. If I got clocked like that and came back and sucked, you wouldn't want me as your QB either.

Huard had a rating of 98. Green was 74. last 4 games of the season his rating was 57, 57, 66, and 69. and your new wonderboy Croyle ... a rating of 11!

Green had a big heart? yeah, so did Rudy. I'd rather go against Green next year than Huard. and I'd rather go against the rook Croyle then either of them. bring him on!

word, KCFan. i'm still trying to figure out what Donnie is a trader of, as my fellow San Diegan just informed us.

he trades what? he's an importer/exporter? a collector? does he trap furs in the summer?

i guess that "not all ___ fans know" hypothesis of yours is universal.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet. The defense should be much better, but "top three defense" is asking a bit much. We still needmore production from our DTs and the outside rush while improved still can get a lot better.

Plus, we need to this Trent Green issue taken care of, as well as, signing Jared Allen and LJ to long-term deals.

Donnie was great as a leader on and off the field - a true SD legend and he kept his mouth shut and played decent last year when AJ was degrading him. Hopefully Merrimen will learn from Donnie's leadership, because last time I checked the veteran LBs like Godfrey/Edwards are done. AJ may regret this one as we all have witnessed with the Brees departure and Marty-watch.

I agree Donnie was a great leader and I'm a lifelong Bolt fan, but SD loyalists are stretching the drama a bit on him. He got alot of tackles because of his position but they weren't all quality tackles. for an ILB, he didn't have the muscle to take on the point of attack, so he got alot of tackles downfield from behind. Still a good player, but not exactly butkis. don't exagerate his greatness. he is a very good LB, making very good money, and he bitched about it endlessly. if he cared that much about staying in SD, he would have said "hey, 3.5 million is pretty good money to be where i want to be". he didnt.

he willingly signed a very fair and generous contract and a year later was already bitching about it publicly. he had his PR flacks out bitching for him early last year again, and AJ finally said screw him. AJ didn't play the PR BS game like Donnie did, he was honest about it.

AJ doesn't regret Brees departure, nor Marty. Brees was good but you can't keep 2 pro-bowl QBs and AJ picked the right one (Rivers). he should have gotten something for Drew, that I agree. As for Marty - that is all on Marty - marty pushed to get fired. Marty insisted on hiring his brother. The bolts wanted Cottrell to be interviewd and Marty said no, only his brother. This, after hiring his son a few years ago.

Marty pulled this stunt after the team agreed to keep him another year. Marty wanted out, and instead of being a man and saying I'm going to leave, he did this BS so he'd get his fat paycheck next year. hire his brother? f that, the jerk. his brother is a nobody, there isn't a single other team in the league that wanted his brother as coordinator. this poor Marty drama is a joke. get some facts, joe.

and good luck to Donnie without the best defense in the league behind him.

You won't convince me that Rivers is the better QB after just 1 year of game managment style quarterbacking - which is not a bad thing, but must be justified with a Super Bowl win. Hopefully Norv can develop Rivers into a great QB as he has done in the past with the all time great Troy Aikman.
As far as Marty goes, what can you say he never won the big one, but last time I checked either have the Chargers .... EVER. If anyone could get us over the hump, my beleif was that it would be Marty.

I agree - I never did like AJ either, but we are stuck with him for the time being. Hopefully Butler was able to pass some humility and good decision making skills down to him because the recent decisions have been questionable. It should be interesting if we retain Turner because it is my beleif that Turner was paramount in LTs break out season last year as Turner carried the load in the bulk of the beginning of 2006, while LT exploded later in 2006. From what I remember, LT was injury prone by the end of 2004 and 2005 as a reult of being over utilized.
