I just saw that the Steelers are looking at Byron "two left feet and a IQ of 2" as a backup for the injured Charlie Batch. After living in Jacksonville most of my life as a STEELERS fan, I almost choked and have not recovered yet that Tomlin would allow something so horribly wrong to happen. The city cheered when Byron finally left town. The Jaguar faithfuls prayed for years for the coaching and management staff in Alltel to wake up and let this bum go. There has to be a better QB available out there. For the Steelers to consider "BEGONE LEFT-OR-WHICH" is a catastrophic mistake. Please Pittsburgh nation do not let this happen quietly. PLEASE!!!!

Charlie Batch broke his collarbone Friday night and the Steelers signed former Jacksonville QB Byron Leftwich Sunday evening.

Mike Tomlin couldn't understand why Byron Leftwich was still out of football.

"Your guess is as good as mine," said Tomlin, who said he was impressed by both Leftwich and Daunte Culpepper at a workout at Latrobe Memorial Stadium on Sunday morning.

Leftwich ended up signing with the Steelers, who gave him no assurances of a roster spot, but if reports about his physical shape and lively arm are true, there's a good chance he could remain with the team throughout the season.

The Steelers also activated Casey Hampton from the PUP list, signed punter Mitch Berger, and released wide receiver Gerran Walker and linebacker Anthony Trucks.

Any chance they'll keep four quarterbacks when Batch comes back? They certainly wil hang onto Dixon.

About as much chance as Pirmanti Brothers serving a hagass sandwitch my man. The Steelers will start the season with three QBs. Count on it.

Leftwich is a means to an end. As soon as Charlie is ready...he'll be second on the list. That is of course, unless, Byron performs better. Which I doubt.

It does raise an interesting question, though, when Charlie returns. If Leftwich is still on the roster on opening day, he's paid for the season, and if he's performing well...

LOL on the Scottish cuisine, mate. We do love our haggis. We're not so keen on the hag-ass, but we do seem to have a lot of that about, too.

They will keep Batch over Leftwich because Charlie knows the offense. Batch will be back in 2 months IMO. And what the hell is haggis?

Its a Scottish treat where a bunch of pork and meat is stuffed into a sheep stomach and boiled until edible. Very disgusting.
