Carolina's positional "controversy"

There are 25 comments on the ArmchairGM story from Oct 19, 2007, titled Carolina's positional "controversy". In it, ArmchairGM reports that:

As I see it the Panthers have three positions that are in a "controversy". The first, and most obvious is at Quarterback, the second would be at Middle Linebacker, and the last is at Runningback. via ArmchairGM

No controversy the best player should play. I have no alleigence to mistakes. Morgan should be bench for ineffectiveness no controvesy too easy. Running back Foster has not had an 1000 yard season since arriving at Carolina. Leads the league in fumbles ineffective too easy. QB interceptions and third down conversions too easy

If they were in New England do you think that Bill Belichick would tolerate poor performances for long. I do not think so.Let's not be cynical at this point. History will be the deciding factor and not your opinions.Leave the truth to the stats and their on field performances.I have found in this world some people cannot handle the truth. They respond with a sword.

DeAngelo Williams should start hands down.... give him the ball 20-25 times a game and he'll easily produce a 1,000 yard rusher for your team. HE is unbelievably gifted and has much more potential than Foster.

Thank you for your comment. I donot understand the Panthers decision to stay with Foster,Morgan and those other non-productive players for the sake of the team.

There is no question that D'angelo Williams needs to be the starter. He almost always has a better yards per attemp and one only needs to look at his college numbers to see how good he is. He is a back in the sense of a Tony Dorsett or Barry Sanders mode. He is capable of going the distance almost anytime and if he gets the ball 15-20 times a game he no doubt will break at least two long runs.

not to worry he'll be there, my thing is I really really dont think you think that the coaches do'nt know the stats of there players so there must be other reasons they're still playing but you never know

Last year the Panthers went 8-8,this year they will probably finish at 7-9 no play off implications that is a vast improvement.I guess some are in denial over our current predicament. You are apparently not following this team enough.Where is Morgan now" Please answer? Foster still ineffective huh? Jake is still a second rate QB huh? Nothing has changed in Charlotte has it.How long will Charlotte tolerate this kind of performances?

It seemd that even the Jags were stunned to see how unprepared and uninspired the kittens were this past Sunday. This has been a 2 year run of very poor play...QB,defense,offense& special teams need some oxygen...or maybe some heart...how can other teams show up ready to play and compete when the Pants look like they need someone to provide an excuse...there has got to be some other agenda...like waiting for Cowher's house to be built ? or Marty is waiting for the light rail to reach Lake Norman ?Why did these cats stink so bad and nobody seems to want to clean the litter box ? There will be alot of Panther blue seen this Sunday, the back rest of empty seats .

lets not forget football is a team sport it is a team effort. If an individual has a good game you can bet he had some help but the way I saw them playing Sunday It problely wound'nt have matter who was starting I THINK THIS TEAM HAS A SERIOUS MORALE PROBLEM

I think that the coaching staff and management is responsible for this problem. The players assume liabilty also to curing this cancer that plagues the team.Yes football is ateam sport;but bad players make bad plays. These actions result in morale, disciplinary and losses that affects the whole team. They have played in this manner for alot of Sunday's.The fans are responding in attendance to the games.Mr. Hurney will probably be a distant memory after this season.Does not have the vision for picking talent.

yes the whole team can be affected I have to agree with that and they definitly have been playing like that at the same time I still think it takes a team effort to bring out the best in every-----body
