Dolphins offense no match for Panthers

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

At least the Dolphins defense is ready for the regular season. As for the starting offense and special teams, a 19-10 preseason loss at Carolina showed those units could use a little more practice time before ...

I am concerned with the mental errors on the offensive line. I think we need a short distance running back. And did anyone else notice the continued play calling of needing 7-8-9 yards and third down and throwing 4 and hoping the reciever make the yardage. What happened to going downfield? I havent seen it in preseason. I hope we look more together the last game of the season, before the season starts. The excuse of a work in project isnt acceptable

They might as well start getting ready for next year. Hopefully they can get some good Draft Picks for 2007 Draft.

Culpepper still can not get miami into the end zone. I hope Miami is smart and give Harrington a start in teh last preseason game. To show he is the one that should be the Q?B for Miami. Miami will fail with Culpepper.

Take the positives from the negatives. Defense looked great. Nobody got hurt. Offense moved the ball. We sucked at special teams. Wait up...did Jason Allen give up another bomb this week? Just kiddin dawg! Point is, this is just the preseason, take it easy, come back with the negative comments after the 1st regular season game, where the real games count!

Hey, somebody give this guy a shotgun so he can shoot himself. Somebody this down on the Dolphins probably has new life.

I liked the idea of going for the gold on fourth and one....but I don't think anyone in the stadium didn't know Ronnie was going to get the ball. Maybe a little imagination in the play calling is in order.

The offense is very predictable...and if I can see it so can the opposing team.

I don't understand how you can say that the dolphins offense is no match for the panthers since the dolphins had 323 yards to carolina's 145. They took a chance on 4th and goal from the 1 and that is just some kinds of risks you have to take. Our special teams had a rough night and that is about all. Culpepper didn't score a touchdown, but if it hadn't been for flukes, like the 98-yard return, the botched punt, and the return to the 28 Carolina would have put no points on the board. The numbers don't lie so to say that the offense was no match for them is far fetched.

Carolina fan here. The Dolphins looked impressive. Good flow on the offense and they stifled what I think is a good to very good offense (Granted, Steve Smith was out). Dolphins should contend for an AFC East title this year. Carolina should for an NFC Championship this year. Both teams looked OK.

Remember - these teams do NOT gameplan for their opponents in the preseason. They just work on what they want to work on - NOT work on what is best against that weeks pre-season opponent. Give credit wher credit is due. Deangelo Williams is going to be a very good running back in this league. Duante Culpepper is going to make Miami's offense something to contend with.

Just remember - it's PRE-SEASON. I do remember the Colts got smacked in the face every pre-season game last year and then we all know what happened when the real season started.
