What is the big secert here? Colts fans wish Simon the best. Is he sick, greedy, pissed off or lazy. Someone knows the answer so why hasn't it came out. It has been over a year now. Tell the story or drop it and Simon.

Oh the story just keeps getting stranger. If all personnel matters are going to be addressed today, then they better not just "creatively forget" to talk about Simon. You have some clout built up with the fans, Colts front office. Just tell us we were idiots and signed an overweight guy we didnt know had serious health problems and we lost our asses on the deal and he is not coming back as a member of the team.

Somebody just give it some closure so we can move on and stop having to see his name in the paper everyday. We wasnt going to be a difference maker regardless. Put it to bed. Today.

This thing is just plain strange. He's under contract. If he doesn't report, the Colts better fine his lazy azz. You don't tell people you're going to be there, then no-show. Whatever his angle is, its the WRONG angle.

He was placed on the physically unable to perform list. Players aren't considered active at that time, so he can't be fined for missing mandatory team activities.

The Colts actually withheld his 2006 playing salary. The $14 million he's made so far are from 2005 playing salaries, signing bonuses, and roster bonuses.

The sad part is, this guy counts huge against the salary cap. Hopefully, the genius that is Mr. Bill Polian has a trick up his sleeve to make sure it doesn't hurt us.

Actually, I'm flying in later this morning on a private helicopter, landing directly on the practice field. I've hired a marching band and 18 girls from Hooters to throw flowers on me as I step off the copter and walk across the field over to coach. I'll tell coach that I have a few things to tend to, then I'll back outside in a couple of hours for some stretching and light work, then I'll call it a day. I can do all of this because I am Corey Freaking Simmon.

Best Regards, Corey.

Does anyone know if this guy still with the team, or if the NFL has ruled on his request for reinstatement? This is another one that has some questions around it.

I thought the PUP list reset in July, and everyone was 'active' until placed back on it?

He actually got paid for 4 to 6 (can't remember?) of the 2006 games...up until the time he was placed on the inactive list.

I think I'll release him today - but mark my words, he'll be in someone else's camp by the end of the week, and a productive DT for some team in the NFL this Fall....

Message to the Colts: You need to, and owe it to your fans, a very precise explanation as to what's going on with this guy. This is BS and starting to tick me off!!

The Colts want to cut Corey and remove his salary from their books, because Corey is not psycially able to perform. The problem is Corey knows this, but he still insist on getting paid like he is playing.
So since the Colts can't get Corey to quit. They are saying if you want to still get paid like you're playing. You are going to limp your 350 lbs. self out there and earn your paycheck. This is going to be very interesting to see how this plays out.
Meanwhile, only Reggie could come into camp like that. Sort of brings you back to those Hurricane's Days when they was blowing everybody out. It was a show the moment they stepped off the bus or plane. I think this is going to be a very big year for The Real Reggie. Because he is NOW.

We don't need his freaking distraction to carry over into ANOTHER season. He needs to be cut and I don't care if he became an all-pro with NE - he will be zero here.

i agree with some of the other post. Why this big mystery over the past year regarding Simon??? Neither Simon nor the Colts have said hardly anything about it. It seems like this whole mess is a more closley guarded national secret than wether George Bush´s IQ is really 12 or 13.

I think that Greg Nichols (somewhere in Spain) is the one with the IQ of 12 or 13! Did you get through the second grade, Greg? "Whether" is spelled w-h-e-t-h-e-r, not "wether", dumbo.
