It is unknown how long the benching of Chris McAlister will last. Although there is a chance cornerback Samari Rolle and safety Dawan Landry could return Sunday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh wouldn't say ...

You know what forget all that. Who the hell does John think he is Benching arguably the best CB in the game at even age 30? Chris and R. Lew are the only two playing on this squad from our SB. As a fan I'm really unhappy. I don't care if he gives us the best chance or not. He needs to be out there. He's one big reason I fell in love w/ the ravens. Furthermore I dont see any better potentially better CB's on our team other than maybe Fabian. Clearly John's head has gotten big, and someone needs to check him. So what Chris got burned, you swear there is anyone who hasn't been burned consecutive times in the league before. This is going to create problems in the locker room especially if John benches Chris, more articles like this are released, and after the game John BS's the reason why he benched his player.

Let Cmac stew in his own juices. The view from the bench will do him well.

....and you don't think the rest of the team takes notice? Watch the lack of 'tudes the rest of Harbaugh's tenure. Team ethos and professionalism as opposed to "ME, ME, ME". How refreshing.

Conjecture, conjecture, conjecture. Why not investigate a couple of days, really study some game tape, keep at questioning the key guys invlolved here, maybe even talk to some reason cuts or others who might have some insight as to what McCalister is or is not doing...THEN write a story. C'mon, you are better than this, Jamison.

I agree. This is sounding like a Joe the Plumber over dramatized situation. Is Chris the only starter in the NFL who is hurt this time of year?Ask Rex what is going on and leave it at that.

Why the secrecy? Clearly, SOMETHING has happened to make Harbaugh do something as severe as benching (to a point) Chris McAlister. Nobody is buying the BS that C-Mac isn't "one of the best 11 guys" to be out there. Frank Walker? Corey Ivey? C'mon John, just tell everybody what's going on!!!! I DO love the fact that he's showing these players who's in charge now. Billick never had the spine for it.....

Artin, did you even WATCH the Colts game? C-Mac played so poorly I thought the Ravens snuck DeRon Jenkins back onto the roster and gave him McAlister's number! Sometimes a guy needs to be reminded you can't take games off in this league.

While we really don't know if C'Mac not starting was due to how he played in the Colts game, it could be the reason.

My gut feeling, is that Harbaugh is not saying it (only hinting it) that he wants to keep Chris' knee fresh when we play teams that do have a more legitimate playmaker at WR. For example, Cleveland (division game), or the likes of TO, etc. I think he's trying to avoid wearing the knee down on the long no-rest stretch (and avoiding Chris having to stay on the bench due to injury, or worse, IR), like last year.

I just think that the coaches looked at Miami's WRs and said, "ok, let's rest Chris on this one, the other guys can cover them well enough". And they did, rest him.[Not sure why they would not tell him this, unless it was only to not have him tell others, as it would be a slight against another team to say "we took out our best CB since we thought your team didn't have anyone to match him in ability at WR".]

That said, we won, and we move on to the next game. Let the coaches do what they think best, and see how it plays out.

Go Ravens!

If it was a message, maybe due to how

There is no way Harbaugh is stupid enough to bench C-Mac and put Walker in as a starter. Ryan isn't crazy either. If C-Mac is benched for any other reason than being hurt, there will be a new coach in here by the middle of next season.

Chris McAlister gets torched by Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison like it is his job. If he is supposed to be one of the best, why does he always get exposed by the best? Cornerback is a one-on-one position, and McAlister gets burned by guessing and trying to jump routes way too often. On top of that, he is a heady player who does draw way too many flags.

Good for Harbaugh.

Wow - you really are obsessed with replacing coaches aren't you? I'll bet you think you could coach or manage any sport and do a better job than the professionals. You really have issues, dude.

Hang tough Chris. Show the critics that you are still a primere shut down corner.

Even the best have a bad game. Forget it and move on.

Ohh boo-hoo! Lets instead settle for a 5-11 record. Its called TEAM.

This is treating players correct, like real men. If you don't like it you might want to invest in t-shirts for gameday and not $120 jerseys, because you never know in this shakeout who is still on top.

Attitude adjustments are hard. I bet anything CMac said something or motioned to cross Harbaugh and then blew it against the Colts.

That is what happens in the real world. Glad we are being coached toward winning expectations. I'll take Cmac being upset for better team play. For that matter I hope we make him better or even find someone better.

The big deal is Ravens 24 Deadskins 13 on December 7.

he sat mcallister down because he blew it against the colts more than once. he has a tendency to go to sleep or something out there
and play the receiver instead of playing the ball maybe this will wake him up because he
isn't as great as everyone thinks he is at least not 100% of the time

Harbaugh is the head coach. He has authority over the players and can do whatever he wants. McAllister was horrid against Indianapolis. Benching him was justified. Maybe he'll come back a little more focused.

Are you serious? He got completely punked out in the Colts game. Could cover a receiver to save his life. Not to mention that there is a attitude problem on this team. Billick never addressed it because he did not have the spine for it. Be happy you have a coach that actually has the balls to yank a guy that is becoming a problem.
