I think it was a terrible job on the part of the Giants to not let him come back for the playoffs. Of course after the fact they can say they want him back but you cannot spend 3 years in jail and paly football at the same time. With Spagnuolo leaving and probably Gilbride leaving, and many players probably being cut, next year's team could be very different and significantly worse. Derrick Ward will also be gone. They should have let Plaxico play in the playoffs and then they can worry about everything next year.

Even if he avoids jail time, the NFL will almost definitely impose a suspension of at least four games next season. And this is far from the first transgession by Burress, just the most severe. Move on. They have extra draft picks from the Shockey deal to package for a top receiver. There are only a couple of holes (linebacker, OL & DL depth) that need to be addressed through the draft anyway.

Unless of course they also want to target a QB who can throw a spiral outside a dome.

I believe Plax deserves a second chance. There must have been about five guys on the Cowboys caught with guns, and they are all welcome back. Of course, they didn't shoot themselves, but hopefully, Plax will have learned his lesson about guns. Especially, about keeping them in sweatpants. He's lucky it hit his leg and not his third leg.

yeah, i have done some stupid things in my life too. i haven't shot myself yet, but then again i am not a wide reciever.
but of all the things these dumb players do, that is the least of the moral breaches. it really only hurt himself and his team.

What a bunch of frauds -- none of you would care had the Giants won yesterday.

The Giants empowered this guy by repeatedly allowing him to violate team rules without consequence. They deserve each other.

After yesterday's performance, Gilbride should be given a one-way ticket to Oakland.

Did Jacobs really say that Plax wasn't a criminal? Duh! Those football players are dumber than I thought. Of course he's a criminal, you dumbster. You just can't be wandering around with a gun without a permit, ok stupid? I think that this tells us a lot about the jerks that parade around on the Giants football field.

I agree with Jacobs. When the legal system is done with Burress the Giants should re-instate him. Unlike Michael Vick, Burress's crime was one of stupidity and not diviant behavior.

Giants lost because Coughlin failed to run Jacobs at critical times. If Earth,Wind and Fire are to be broken up, keep Jacobs and Bradshaw. Giants game plan was too predictable, whether that is Coughlin's fault or his offensive coordinator is a moot question. Personally, Giants should show Coughlin the door and hire Spagnola as head coach. It is time. to let another young and talented coach to go somewhere else would be a crime.

Send this liar and the other liar, Antonio Pierce, packing. We'd rather lose without them than win with them!

I don't know, he really screwed over the team and its fans. It's a given we are so much better with him, who isn't with an elite WR that makes all the other ones better. But his nonsense antics pissed me off. First crying about the contact, then being flippant about missing meetings, then the stupid shooting himself. I guess I say give him another chance, who else we have as an elite WR?

Absolutely...then jail his sorry a/s/s for the felony he committed. If you carryan unlicensed gun, you are guilty. There is no "if this, if that" B/S.

He can play in the next remake of "The Longest Yard." What an idiot.
