I still think this is a big mistake, but I guess the orginaization has a lot of faith in DG. I just wish we could wait one more year to see how he pans out....

I disagree, this was the best thing we could have done. The city loves him, he is the anti-Byron and he deserves it. He's done nothing but be patient, humble and a hard worker. I've got really good feelings about this year and I can't wait until training camp.

A well deserved contract for a great guy....good luck, David and congrads. I have a lot of faith in you and it seems Weaver does, too.

David got paid! Good for him.
Now that David and JDR are all paid well and locked down we can look to the bright future of the Jaguars.
Now lets go win the AFC South this year!

either way draft another qb there should be good ones in rd 3-5. Go jags.
First time we agree on something.
There are also a LOT of good runningbacks available too.
We should start planning ahead on Fred's replacement.
Go Jags!

The should've brought Byron Lefwich back to at least try out. Then the Jags could've cut his ass again before the first game, what a moral booster that would've been. The jags would have a record in the stands. To the guys bashing Gerrard, I would rather have a humble team player at QB, instead of the egomaniac QB

Kudos David! Now hopefully we can address our defensive pass rush and pass defense issues in the draft.

Yes - I disagree too, but after all do you honestly think with a name like "Obama for Prez" has much sense anyways.... need I say more!!!

David is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, if you get the pleasure to meet him. How many people in the NFL today would have gone from backup to starter & back again more times than he has without complaining & just working hard, like everyone should do? He deserves MORE than the Jags paid him, but I am sure he settled for a lesser amount to help out the team. After all, if you can't live on $60M, you can't live on $65M+ either.
God bless you David & your family. We look forward to or first Super Bowl & you as the MVP!!!

PS: Dixie Joe, you disgust me!!!

Although I think it's fantastic that Garrard is staying in Jacksonville, I am weary of him having so much money where $60 million could be used elsewhere. Why can't someone sign up a deal for the schools arts program that way? I'm studying to become a music teacher and there aren't many programs and places for me to teach here in Duval becuase of the budget cuts.

I pray that he will take that money and use it wisely. That's such a huge deal. I think the biggest one I've seen yet. My challange to him is make a difference in his community as he does in the field. May He use his gift for God's glory.
Go Jaguars!

I think it's a shame that a sports
player makes so much money. When
we have so many homeless people. And have so many people living from
paycheck to paycheck. It's not right. It's just right.
