Jake Long will be allowed to develop at a reasonable pace?!!! The Giants pick will be asked to step in immediately and help keep the team at a championship level?!!! What #1 overall pick is ever allowed to develop at a reasonable pace? They are viewed whether fairly or not as FRANCHISE SAVIORS!!! The 31st pick is expected to contribute in their rookie year not be a key cog in a title defense. And the title of the article is silly too. Every pick for every franchise must find a way to blend in with the team.

Blend in with champions? Sounds like they're getting big heads. By the way, I say their first pick should be a linebacker.

Over-analysis. And besides, Coughlin is still the coach so there is not the instability and mess that Parcells caused when he left so abruptly. Draft at #31 to get an impact player that comes in and hits the ground running, period end of story.

Bunch was another Michigan bust; if he's an actor now, he got his training as a Giant pretending to be a quality football player.

Safety and linebacker are key positions to fill.

We've proved we can win without Shockey--take the 2nd round pick from New Orlenes and be done with it.

forget it man, he's gone.Shockey is a great player but we do have a great young up and coming TE in Boss. Who proved he belonged in the big time. Its a painful loss but we'll get oer it.

the first pick must blend in, are u kidding. The giants picked up David Carr, this dude was cut by the two worse teams in the NFL. Just wait until Eli gets hurt and they put him in as starting quarterback, the fans in NY will burn the stadium down if he plays.

This guy Rock is a real rocket scientist. Giants first pick must blend in with team. Duh...all picks must blend in with team. That's why they call it a team game. Any more moronic journalism and I am moving to another country.
