Colts bank on Rice's Pro Bowl form

Full story: The Indianapolis Star

Three seasons ago at the height of his 12-year career, defensive end Simeon Rice proclaimed himself "the best pass rusher in the NFL." Claimed Monday off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts, the three-time Pro ...

The Colts signs Rice, who has been cut twice so far this year, he has a shoulder problem, and has been in the NFL for 12 plus years! what the Colts need to sign is a kicker that can make 29 yard FG's. missing 3 in two games ( which the Colts lost by 3 )is not acceptiable! bet Manning and the Colts would like to have "that drunker kicker back"

Rice left Tampa because he would not take a paycut.

He did not fit in Denver's system either. Whatever the hell that is.

It now looks like there is no way the Colts can even make it to the super bowl let alone win again. I'm not sure nthey can even win the afl south this year

I'm just curious...Will the Colts cut Rice after this season, knowing that Freeney will be back next season? We surely wouldn't have both of them, would we?
(If this is a "dumb question", please forgive this grandma who is still learning the game, but always lovin' the COLTS!!!!)

Hopefully, Rice will have a chip on his shoulder and will play hard to prove the negative thinkers wrong.
I remember when the Colts aquired McFarland last year and how well it paid off. So, I'm not going to second guess any decision they make when it comes to who they pick up to play.
I do think they should be more concerned with the special teams lack of ability to do their job. The offense and defense can only compensate so much for their inability to get the job done.

Sure they will, Rice is just a stop gap player, if Freeney can come back Rice will be out. It is not unusual for this to happen, teams sign players like this all the time.

The only thing better than Freeney getting hurt would have been for Manning to have gotten hurt. This, boys and girls, is the difference between a good team and a great team. Great teams have the ability to put new people in and still win. Lord only knows how many excuses will come out of the mouths of colts fans over the next few months if Freeney does not return. Absolutely right. Manning is one of the problems with this team. His sanctimonious, hipicritical attitude will bring down this team. His true colors are already showing and starting to crack the foundation of this team. My neighbor is in the RCA Done organization and tells me that Manning is the biggest jerk inside and outside the lockeroom. He said that Manning turns into one of the nice, good ol' boys when a tv camera is around. Call Mayflower!!! Get this garbage out of Indy.

First of all I love the people posing as Colts fans.

And the Colts schedule now has the 3 division rivals at home, Raiders, Ravens, Chiefs and Falcons.

Not too scary. They could potentially run the table and lose no more than 1 of these games.

We won't know that until lots of things happen - we'll look at his production this year, how well his age and injuries respond to being on the field, and how much he makes relative to how much he gives us. Then we look at what else is out there for the same price, taking into account knowing the system and the NFL (both good and bad), and how he fits with the organization. Plus, we have to consider how much he needs to "stay here" and play. Bottom line, if we won a SB with him, he'd be more likely to want to stay, and we'd be more likely to want him, if he helped. If he's good enough for 2-3 years, he'll save us a low draft pick to use on a longshot for a different position later.

You are still wrong, and still an idiot.

"Hypocritical," defined as complaining about the Colts being losers when the complainer is one himself.
