Ken in west hartford -- you watched national highlights and nothing more, I suppose? Who calls a 7 step drop when you're on the 1 yard line and your o-line hasn't stopped the edge rushers all day and your QB is starting his first NFL game??

DanO played very well, and despite a defense that was porous at best kept the Lions in position to win most the games in which he started. That is more than any other Qb oo Daunte included -- was able to do.

He deserves a shot to come back and lead the Lions through this transition period -- if he can be resigned at the right price. Is he a borderline starter? Sure. Will he win you many games? Nah. Will be lose you many games? Nope. Great for a building from the bottom up team like the Lions.

I am a 40 year old Lions fan. I am very happy with the hiring of Schwartz and the 2 Coordinators. The Lions should re sign Dan O. and use the #1 pick on the Alabama tackle. Dan played well considering the circumstances. I honestly believe that if Dan and Matt Cassell traded teams Dan would have won with NE and Matt would have lost with the Lions. Dan has leadership and all the other qualities to be a very good NFL QB. Plus he is not afraid to throw it up to Calvin Johnson unlike Jon Kitna. Dan will win in this league I just hope it is with the Lions.
