The Jags current strategy is to sell (season tickets) to younger people in Jax that grew up only knowing the Jags since some of us old timers already had a favorite team in the NFL. Over the next couple of years you should start to seeing NO BLACKOUTS in Jax and if they keep up the way they are playing this year, everyone will be on the band wagon.

It is obvious that you know absolutely nothing about the Jags or their fans! Get a clue, loser.

Did the Sentinel actual pay you to come to Jacksonville just so you could write another tired Jacksonville bashing story. Is this really the story you were sent to write? Does this kind of story make you feel better about where you live or the job you have? Next time you draw this assignment save the paper some money pull out one of your old articles about Jacksonville and change the date and send a writer that actually can write about the game for the people in your area that care. If you really want to do comedy check with the funny pages.

Where are the Jags fans? I live in Orlando, and I'm a Jags season-ticket holder. So if Duval County chooses to ignore the best pro football team in Florida, where is everyone else from Orlando northward? Are you kidding me? Four-and-one and 4,000 seats are empty? It seems like everyone around me is either a 'Fins or Bucs fan. Listen:'Fins fans pull there madras shorts up to their sternums and wear black knee-high SuppHose with sandals. Bucs fans inhabit the finer trailer parks in Central Florida and can't muster a full compliment of teeth between 'em.'Fins and Bucs are so fifteen-minutes-ago! The Jags are the CLASS of Florda Professional Football. C'mon, Orlando! Move out of Fantasy Land and shake off Tinkerbell's fairy dust! Come join me next Monday night at Alltel for the best Pro ball in all of Florida! Hope to see ya there.

David, Jaguars are going through the same growing pains that Tampa had in their early years. Jacksonville bleeds teal. Now David, I want to challenge the local central Florida media like yourself to start supporting Jaguars football. I do not reside there any longer but nothing has changed. Orlando is the secondary market for the Jaguars in the AFC and Bucs for the NFC. Local media does not follow those league rules not enforced unless there is a blackout. Specialy the local CBS station. They will show the Dolphins game before any Jaguars game unless they play on different time slots, mainly the 1:00PM kick-off for both. Would you prefere watch the 0-6 Dolphins or the 4-1 Jaguars? You guys(media) can help create that love if more coverage and columns are written for the Jaguars along with the Bucs. Green Bay is the only smaller market than Jax but they have Milwakee just down the road. Jacksonville thanks for you guys are left alone in there corner of the peninsula. Miami has all south Florida. Bucs has the I-4 corridor. Jaguars are the best team in the state. Probably alot of people will follow the Jaguars in central Florida if you guys reach to cover them and give them exposure. They are 2.5 hours up north and better traffic than dealing with Tampa's I-75 interchange. Nothing against the Dolphins but if you can write how Jacksonville can not support their own team take a good look at media guys like yourself with honesty. Go to a Jaguar game, or just seat and enjoy a real Monday Night Football next Monday against the Colts. I sure be watching.
GO JAGS, BEAT COLTS!!!

I live in Cassleberry and I haven't missed a home game in 4 years. The writer makes it seem like the stadium was empty on Sunday.

I thought the crowd was loud and into the game.

I agree with LatinJag. I've been a Jags season ticket holder for 10 years. I've seen the highs, lows and finally it's leveling off. Tampa struggled for years, it wasn't until the second generation that started to buy tickets and now the consistently fill a stadium of 65,000. This year, even with the 2 blackouts, we have an average attendance of 63,657 fans. We WILL finish this year with an average of over 65,000; the same as Tampa. Give us 5 more years, when those 24 year old season ticket holders were six when the team arrived in Jacksonville, you will see the Jags with a waiting list.

BTW...In the last 6 years, the Jags have bettered the Bucs in attendance for three of those years.

Quentin, I was a season ticket holder also until I moved to SW Florida after retiring from the NAVY. I miss that game experience. My whole family of 5 every home game even under the burning sun or pouring rain...no matter.
I even have my whole family chanting "Move the chains" the Jacksonville way watching my oldest son playing in his varsity games. I envy you. I want to invite everyone in central Florida to join that experience.
