What a talented young man. Can we get him back to art school (not like he needs it)?
I agree, the artwork looks good. What the article does not mention is the reason why he dropped out of art school. It can't be for lack of time or lack of money. The price of canned spray paint is not cheap.

I think the art is fantastic. I'm really sick of seeing some stupid gang symbol sprayed on public property and signs.(Not that anyone can read that garbage anyway.)

Great work! Maybe he can start spraying canvas and sell it to finish art school!

I think this is such an incredible thing. It would be wonderful to see more abandon buildings used as an artist canvas instead of a place to leave graffiti. Hopefully this young man can continue doing his wonderful art work.
I own some abandon buildings and the las thing i want it sone fool painting them with a spray can.
It cost me alot to keep painting over this type of trash. I admit some of it is good but GO PAINT YOUR OWN HOUSE.

This story and Acosta missed the point. There is no comparison between graffiti and this artist's work: He has permission.(And permission to make great things, apparently.)

Graffiti is defacing someone else's property, which has no excuse.

The art is amazing and an eyesore has been transformed. Somewhere I am sure we have more important things to complain about. Let the art continue to change.

This does not blur any line. When a person has permission to paint something on a building, that's not graffiti. Graffiti is painting on something that's not yours w/o the owner's permission. This young man did amazing work! And what a great attitude -- knowing he is only leaving it up for a few months. Kudos to Gamma!

"I own some abandon buildings..." How exactly does one OWN an abandoned building? Did you mean vacant?
If you don't know the difference, your banker or mortgage company will fill you in.

I hope Channel 9 will provide some way for actual owners of buildings to contact Mr. Acosta. Be the first on your block to have an Acosta mural.

Why did this young man have to quit school?? He is truly gifted, I would be willing to help organize something to raise money for him to finish school. Good work, its beautiful!

This man's art is "art", not grafettii. I don't know how he gets the detail with spray paint, its hard to do with brushes. He should be commended for what he does. At least its decent to look at. Other cities let kids paint murals on walls and fences, it shows their artistic ability and also gives them some pride and they like to take care of what they have done. To bad this young man had to quit art school, he could have a good future.

It's all good and worth chilling out over unless it's your property you don't want vandalized.

graffiti or art?? The distinction is murals are painted with the permission of the owner of the site. Without the owners permission in is graffiti, no matter how well it is done. It is defacing or destoying someone elses property, pure and simple.

Um, he has permission to do it and he's going to paint over everything when the buildings are ready to be used again. Chill out and read the story again.
