Rebuilding the Oakland Raiders running game

Coming into the season, the Oakland Raiders were expected to be one of the top rushing teams in the NFL.

That is why Bush rightfully deserves to be the starter. He doesn't go down on first contact and he's the power runner. McFadden is a change of pace back and should be used on 3rd and long as a receiver out of the backfield or a slot receiver. Plus Bush was a bigger stud in college than McFadden.

RAIDERS are predictable. teams can see the run comming. they can see the pass. RAIDERS need the audible to hand or pass to the rusher. even on passing, russell looks straight at the receiver turns and hands it straight to the ball carrier. the apposing D is just looking at russells eyes and they know where he is going to throw or pass. i personally think it all starts there. he need to be a little more tricky with his position after the hike of the ball. gotta fake some and not be to obvious. that will help the run and that will help the pass. and that will open our chances for more plays and options. i think i need to let them know!

j russells high school teacher teacher always told russell "to stay at an even keel position, that way nobody will ever read you. they will never know what you're thinking about, how high you are, how low you are" hmmmm!

I never really heard much of McFadden until the 2008 Draft. I still can't believe that Kiffin said that a guy like McFadden rarely ever comes around and yet Bush was compared to Bo Jackson who was a one of a kind RB. Bush definatly needs to be the starter.

so far i have been hoping! hoping for bush, hoping for mcfadden, and at the moment i'm just hoping fargas gets back on the field! thats where all our yards have really come from. fargas is a workhorse.let him start.at least he may boost up the momentum.

I've been wondering the same thing. All these good things we've seen in preseason theses last few years that seem like they'll be good for us in the regular season and yet they fail to carry over. Heck Myers showed good promise in preseason and has yet to see any regular season action except maybe on special teams.

The only reason Mcfadden is starting is because of the money invested in him. he is a good back...but it seems most people feel Bush should be starting...we can't be the only ones to see that meaning..it has to have crossed the coaches mind...but..again...money invested I bet is the reason.
