Because of Martz wide receiver is Niners' priority

Sorry Dan but you're WAY off the mark. First off this year is Win or Die for Nolan. This means he need player that will make a significant contribution THIS year, not in 2-3 years like most rookie WR's. On the other hand Rookie LB's (Willis), DE's (Fields) and OT's (Staley) often contribute in their rookie year. Surprise, Surprise, that's pretty much how the first 3 rounds will go. Look for one of each in the first 3 rounds and no WR's 'til the 5th. Wanna make a bet?

Martz needs a 1st round OL before he needs a 1st round receiver. If Gosder Cherlius is there at 29, the niners should take him (though he probably won't be). Sam Baker may be a reach for the 29th pick, but he'll probably be gone before their pick in round 2. Martz has a knack for finding quality receivers in the mid-late rounds (e.g. Furrey, MacDonald, Kevin Curtis). My guess is they'll grab one of the Hawaii WRs around the 3rd/4th round.

Martz tends to neglect his line, but needs a good one for his offense to work.
