Nice story. If Jared catches on as a the regular long snapper with another team, he could play in the NFL for many years, as Pat Mannely has proven with the Bears. Something tells me that estranged wife is getting a little friendlier these days.

I wish him luck, and I am not being sarcastic. It is good to see that ones life can be turned around by a quirk of fate. He never lost the desire to play.
I hope that if the Steelers do cut him after training camp next year, that he does catch on somewhere and has a long career in the NFL. He certainly deserves a break in life. It's tough on the bottom! |

Same with Harper LaBell and Kendall Gammon, great long term long-snappers |

Great story. Really inspiring to read about a guy that held on to his dreams and made them a reality. There's only 32 long-snapping jobs in the NFL. Good for him.

Definetly a great gig if you can get it. |

Being English I don't even know what a long snapper does (sounds painful). But what an inspiring story. Look forward to the HBO movie.

That is a ridiculous comment. I grew up with Jared and his wife. They are both wonderful but she had her heart broken. I would never suggest that she would "get friendlier" just because he has a future in the league. She was there since they were teenagers and he had nothing. |

This is the best story of Super Bowl Week ever.
