I'm Bobby Babbich. I've got a wooden spoon. I make Bobby Bouche look like a Rocket Scientist!

Perfect example for Lovie to not mix personal friends with business. The business was not taken care of yesterday or for the season. The defense was solid when Rivera was D-Coach. If I were Angelo I would pull a Matt Millen and fire the entire coaching staff to save his job.

I think Rob Marinelli would be a decent defensive coordinator. At least he would bring some passion and energy to the job.

Quite simply - hire Todd Bowles as your new Defense Coordinator. A product of the Joe Gibbs "Team" in the late 80s and early 90s.
Smart, intelligent and in your face coach that has no problems holding players accountable. Will motivate his players.
Team first mentality.

Trade 1st round draft pick for a 2 second round draft selection and a third round draft selection.
History proves these ether don't show up for minicamp- Bensen or have back problems…Williams.

Grab Dawan Landry from Baltimore and keep Mike Brown as a back up/player coach.
Having said that - Draft in the following order WR, CB, RT, DT, DE, WR, LB, LG

Cut or trade the following.
Ogunleye, Adewale
Dvoracek, Dusty
Vasher, Nathan
Davis, Rashied
Booker, Marty
Hillenmeyer, Hunter
Wolfe, Garrett
Miller, Fred

By the way Coach Smith- you were NOT close this year, you were lucky.

Close enough. Give me Rod or Romeo because anything is better then this goof.

Can we hire a coach where our DB's are playing Bump and Run coverage. I never ever want to see another D coach that plays our DB's 8-10 yds off the line of scrimmage or where are lb's are back peddling 20 yds and leaving the middle wide open.

Fire the entire Defensive coaching staff?

Boy Samari Mike would have looked real good either as Head Coach or Defensive Coordinator. The Mc Caskey's love tradition? Not!

I'm curious about something ...

Is there a stat available for how many yards the bears gave up this season while trying to strip the ball instead of just making the goldurned tackle?

I'm all for turnovers and such but it sems that in almost every single game our D gave up dozens of CRUCIAL, momentum changing, outcome-altering first-down-getting yards on plays where - if they had just executed a simple tackle instead of going for the strip - things would have been a lot better for us in both the short term as well as the long term.

Also, if Babbich isn't fired Smith should be.

Enough of this no accountability management style of Lovies.

Yet Turdner continues to get a pass from the clueless. Amazing... How many prime field positions were wasted by this inept "offense" game in and game out? Too many!

Right on! First man to the ball needs to 'wrap up' and let the next guy(s) go for the strip. Coaching 101 teaches that.

I'm not giving that jack@ss a pass....they get up 10-0 early and all of a sudden the offense looks like they're trying to 'burn clock'. Turner is as creative as a pile of dog poo. When you're up 10-0 go for the kill....2 minute offense, flea flicker....something! anything!

I hate to jumo on the bandwagon but Babich really does need to go...and bring Danieal Manning with him. I know Manning shouldn't have been playing safety and has some talent but I still haven't forgiven him for the blown play in the Superbowl let alone the texans game.

Maybe the Bears should give the Lions immediate permission to interview Bob Babich for their new head coaching vacancy, along with a glowing recommendation. That would get him out of Chicago and ensure the Lions are awful for years to come.

IT'S REAL SIMPLE. FIRE LOVIE SMITH !!! FIRE BOB BABICH !!! FIRE JERRY THE GENERAL MANAGER !!! TEAR DOWN THE SHIP AND REBUILD IT, BEGINNING WITH BILL COWHER. IF THE BEARS OWNERSHIP DOES THAT, WE WON'T BE COMPLAINING NEXT SEASON AT THIS TIME, THAT WE MISSED THE PLAYOFFS. THE BEARS OWN THE MIDWAY; WE ARE THE MONSTERS. MIKE DITKA UNDERSTOOD THIS; HELL, HE INVENTED IT. BILL COWHER UNDERSTANDS THIS AS WELL. RIGHT NOW, ALL WE GOT FOR COACHING AND MANAGEMENT IS A BUNCH OF NITCOMPOOPS !!!!!!!!!! WE NEED TO RESTORE THE FAITH, RESTORE THE COMPETENCE, RESTORE THE ABILITY, RESTORE THE PRIDE, RESTORE THE GUTZ.

Posted this here as there was no link for comments on the "Grading the Bears" page...
Fred Mitchell - Tribune staff reporter grades...
Offense C+
Defense D-
Special teams B
Coaching C

My grades..

Offense B-(3 offensive TDs in the game; most teams win when they score 3 TDs in a game)

Defense F+++(Absolutely terrible game!!!)

Special teams C-(punts inside the 20 and a 37 yd FG are what they get paid to do; Manning's fumble and the impact of the fumble keep this from being anything better than a C.

Coaching F (blown 10 point lead approaching the half, no real (noticable) adjustments made during the game and more importantly, the team seemed to lack appreciation for the importance of this game until it was too late

Forte had 14 touches in the 1st half, 6 on the first drive which resulted in 7 points. He had two touches in the second half, one on the 2nd play of the 3rd quarter and one in the 4th. Ron Turner has forgotten how we got to the Superbowl. Run the ball, eat the clock. No imagination. When was the last end around, halfback option or flea flicker? I'm tired of seeing Forte run up the gut when we do decide to run. Mix it up. Keep the other team off balance. Turner destroyed the Fighting Illini program and has done nothing to improve his standing as offensive "guru" for the Bears. I manage people on a daily basis just like Ron Turner. If I had the same poor results day after day, I would expect to be in line at the Illinois Dept. of Employment Security.

I guess the season was successful since I predicted a 6-10 record at the beginning. Williams injury hurt. Urlacher and Brown are long in the tooth, done, hate to say that but true. Turner and Babich need to be replaced!!
