Leave it to the inept Lovie Smith to ruin the most exciting player to come along in 20 years. Hester is a shell of his former self and is now a below average returner and a mediocre receiver. Lovie, you are a DOU-CHE BAG!!!!!!!!!! If I were a McCaskey, I'd fire the lot of ya.

How can you all say he can't score on returns? we all know that every team is gunning for him! and it is time for one of them to break out and this better be the game if they want to stay in the hunt for the play offs, the Bears can come in the back door on everybody because no one thinks they can!!!

Where is it written that every time Hester touches the ball he has a large run back. Teams have figured out how to stop him. Lets thank him for the magic he had move on.

I am getting so sick and tired of hearing about this. Is it really fair to expect a player to run kickoffs and punts back for touchdowns? Now that teams are planning for it, of course he's not going to run back as many. I just want good field position every possession. Devin Hester spoiled us in his first two seasons, and now everyone is wondering what is wrong with him. I really don't think it's fair to expect him to run them back every time. What want is for him to stop going backwards and sideways and start trying to get positive yardage everytime.

It HAS to be that " 'ole Lovie coaching magic " that he has shown in the past ..... with Hester,..... with WRs,..... with QBs,..... with CBs,..... etc, etc, etc.

"From Day 1, we've had plenty of returns that have been one guy away from being to the house."

Issy, my man, therein lies the rub. No one says there's miles between the best and worst NFL teams. The differences are razor-thin.

You guys are a bunch of whining little Fair Weather Fans! Do you people realize the record for returns is only 12 or 13!! It took Brian Mitchell like 10 years to do it.Once you get a reputation, teams shut you down & prepare for you.We have taken some hits in personnel this year on special teams as well.Losing Ayenbadejo was huge.Hester 'already' is only a couple returns away from the all time record!! There is nothing wrong with him.Offense has not ruined him, that is just Stupid! He may be pressing too much & he is not getting as good of blocking.Teams are preparing for him as well.Stop trying to make an issue or controversy out of it.We need to get it in Hesters hands more on offense though. We need more Hester,Olsen & Forte! Its just a matter of time & Hester will break one.I also think Manning is going to get one as well. BEAR DOWN!! GO BEARS!! 2008 DIVISION CHAMPS!!

Once again the hometown paper generates locker room bulletin board material all on it's own. The press is supposed to REPORT the news, not CREATE it!!!!

No doubt that the media exploits the locker room stuff jackthesquid, it's been goin' on forever, but Manning may return a few for scores this year if he keeps it up, and 1bears fan? It's not so much that fans are whining, it's just that we want this team to start playing solid football.
Gladiator dominance like 85 would be nice, but some good old fashioned crisp tackling and hard hitting is all we're asking for right now. As for Hester? He's scared, any fool could see it and teams are feeding off of his fear. He needs to take that pill Underdog has in his ring. Get yo nuts back, baby!
