No assistant coach in the NFL has made a bigger impact on his team's won-lost record through Week 7 than Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner. Full Story

Wow, talking extending Orton already? did you learn NOTHING from 7 weeks of Grossman in 2006?

You sure are easily impressed David.

Maybe we should start working on extending Lloyd as well, hmmm?

Mike brown is not in a slump?!?! He is playing free safety not strong, thus less time in the box. Kevin Payne is more responsible for run support and thus getting the big hits... brown has been solid all season punishing recievers

Hey, David. Way to stick to your guns! I think Orton found himself in the 2nd half against Tampa. He's been on his way up ever since. Personally, I think he's looked a lot like Peyton Manning in his pre-snap routine. I never thought I'd see that in a Chicago QB.

You're an idiot and you know nothing about football, so stay off the boards, for all of our sakes.

Far be it for me to question a player's heart, But I sense that VASHER is the classic example of a guy who got the big pay day, and has lost some of his desire...
I saw a game he played while still at Texas, and the guy was all over the place, making plays, intercepting the ball, he was a monster.
No doubt in my mind he needs a little MOTIVATING, to get his a## back on the field. If I'm not mistaken, he missed some games last year as well. If The Bears DB's don't play well/better the 2nd half, we'll have to outscore ALL of our opponents like last week.

Well you're a bright lad. Try putting a couple of pins in your broken wrist and see how it feels. And then go out and start hitting folks in the train wreck of NFL football.

The Cover-2 is obsolete. It has been figured out. Time to go back to the drawing board, Lovie.

You are right on with everything you wrote. Thanks for the great column and I too would like to see the Bears $@%#-can those pumpkin jerseys. Wear a throw-back jersey instead of it but not the one with those hideous 1920 jerseys with the vertical stripes. Maybe wear the 1932 jerseys. Yes, I have one of those wall hangings with the old uniforms on it.

i kno i said this earlier but i gotta thow it out agian im tired of this bull with our coaching staff, all they say is "every team has injuries" yes thats true, a player here and there. not their whole secondery and spots here and there on the Dline. its time to start condition, i dont kno if we need a new staff, trainers or what but can we get some F'en plyometrics or at least some G D blood and guts drills for freaken sakes. when i used to go to training camp in the past they actually ran this team hard and it blew the carbon out early, they broke them down early to bluid them up strong, and those were the dumb coaches and they still understood, coaches like idoit wanstat, dickie boy actually kne that workd. im a ex-athlete and personel trainer and i work with athletes, they hate the summer 2 a days but any crafty vet with a brain will tell u theyr like a dirty girl, they like getting beat up, because it makes them bad mother F'ers when the snow hits and all origanl 11 are healthy. bring back iron mike!

Well, I might be the only fan that likes the orange jerseys. Being a Bear fan and Illinois alumnus I enjoy being reminded that Coach Halas was also a loyal Illini. So much so that he stole their colors for posterity and his own team. Go orange and blue, whether in Champaign or Chicago.

no no he didnt steal anything, the bears couldnt afford their own jerseys so the illini gave them handme downs. i dont care if they wear pink and green as long as they have a record like 3-1 like they do with the orange, so mark me down as liken em too i guess. also ryan, i tottalllly agree, get these guys working in the offseason and training camp so were not falling apart by week 5

I'm not sure Vasher should be rushed back unless they loose yet another DB but I completey agree with you about those hideous orange jerseys. Get rid of them, burn them, bury them, just don't wear them anymore.

all you guys saying this are fawking tools...
Like damn sheep, one person says it and now everyones on the "the cover 2 doesn't work"......really it doesn't work......then why did Frerotte get picked 4 times???
Plus, the bears only line up in cover two about 1/3 of the time.
Want to know the stats on cover two, go over to chicagobears website and go to chalk talk, they talk about it over there some.

A few things...

- I also like the orange jerseys. L-O-L
- The Cover 2 is not the problem. It works when the line gets pressure. The line hasn't been getting too much pressure lately, that's why is hasn't worked. And FYI they don't run that coverage nearly as much as they used.
- These type of injuries have nothing to do with conditioning. It's just a part of the game. In a physical game like this, how can you point the finger at just one thing? It makes no sense. Tillman's shoulder, Vasher's wrist, Manning's hamstring, Bowman's biceps... How is this due to conditioning?
- Anyone who's been watching football enough knows that the winter is a good time for good out door teams like the Bears. This is a time when definitely have to change to culture of our offense and become a run first team. The winter is when good RBs shine. Look for Forte to start having some big games.

I our defense has been trying to do some new things on defense and that's probably why they've been struggling. And if that's true, then it's enough blame to go around. But I'm going to stop pointing my finger at Babich and wait and see how the defense comes out and play after the bye. Because if they turn it up, Babich will change a lot of people's perception about him.

GO BEARS!!! NFC NORTH CHAMPIONS!!!

Orange jerseys make me throw up a little bit in my mouth every time I see them. How about the blue and white of the butkus and sayers era?

Does Brian Urlacher still play for the Bears? I haven't seen him on the field in weeks.
