Chiefs QB Green wants to play for Dolphins, agent says

Full story: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

The agent for Trent Green said today that the Kansas City quarterback wants to play for the Dolphins in 2007 and the only thing preventing that from happening is an impasse in trade talks with the Chiefs.

Another possible brilliant move by Wayne; Lets get some freaking over the hill QB who if gets hit again, career is probably over. Please Wayne, do us all a favor and either go after Carr or Quinn

Great news. I'd read $$ was the hold-up. Just wait for Herm and that tool GM to release him or give them a 7th. Trent Green is the obvious answer while we groom whomever Mueller and co. has in mind for the future via the draft.

Great history with CCC and Shea. Incredible stats before concussion. Hopefully, he has fully recovered. I'm sure they have a pretty good idea on that given Shea's involvement. Culpepper, meh...cut him. Not right for this offense even IF healthy...big if.

Of course he wants to play here, the only other team that would be interested in him is the 55+ Boca Raton Rattlers of the Senior League. I dont get the interest in this guy at all.

Please NO NO and NO!!! Not another risk with an over-the-hill veteran QB on the way down!

Forget Trent Green! Get a young promising QB even if he does not deliver immediately. E.g. trade the older players for a draft pick high enough to secure Brady Quinn. Lets FORGET this season to secure a much brighter future.

Green means go but it's a much nicer rider in a brand new Carr.

Trent Green...please God NOOOOOO!!! Haven't we learned what taking older, injured, or untalented back ups. Carr still has great potential. He never had an O-line in Houston, but all those hits are going to catch up to him. The draft is the best method to build for long-term success.

Okay guys, I think the Daunte experiment is officially done. I feel sorry for those Dolfans who bought the #8 jersey (thank goodness I didn't get it!) last year (don't sell/throw it away just yet, David Carr wears the same number, just peel-off Culpepper..hehehe). I'd rather not get Green via trade, but I'd rather see him get cut by the Chiefs before the draft & then sign him for the veteran's minimum. He's willing to play here at all costs, so why pay for a draft pick? Wait it out 'Phins! Ditto with David Carr. I'd rather see Carr due to his age & potential for growth. Go Phins!

What to do what to do. Keep Culpepper and get Green so you can draft a QB of the future (the guy from Hawaii is pretty good). Or go after Carr and try to build around him. Either way I am sure that 90% of the Phin fans are going cry like a baby. I don't envy the deciaion they have to make, but I say go after Carr and get rid of Mr. Fumbles Dante Culpepper.

What does Huizenga have to do with trading for Green? Listen, I'm not a Huizenga fan but if the Dolphins trade for Green it's on Cameron and Mueller.

Forget both Green and Carr. Let Oakland trade for Carr, which allows them to pickup Calvin Johnson with the #1 pick in the draft. Then, Miami makes a big trade with Detroit to get the #2 pick and JaMarcus Russell. Let Culpepper start the season, while molding Russell. When Culpepper goes down, we bring in Russell to save the day.

Hey, a fan can dream, right?

Nothing wrong with trading for Green now and drafting Quinn as the QB for the future. Green has 2-3 more years in him and that's the perfect set up for Quinn to come in.

I think the addition of Green as a 2 year solution is an excellent idea. I hope that the team keeps Cu;peeper on the roster. To save 1.3m is not enough of a carrot to the front office and Coach Cameron. Culpepper is healthy should stay as a back-up to Green who is one hit from being on the sidelines again.

Trent Green would make an excellent choice! He is proven, fits perfect. Carr is another Harrington, Culpepper needs to go ASAP.

Go Fins!
