Green Says He's Done With the Chiefs

There are 8 comments on the The Associated Press story from May 23, 2007, titled Green Says He's Done With the Chiefs . In it, The Associated Press reports that:

“They haven't said, 'You're the guy, come right in,'”

Angry and frustrated because his deal with Miami has been held up, Trent Green practiced with Kansas City on Tuesday while insisting he has no plans to ever play for the Chiefs again.

It's a situation the two-time Pro Bowl quarterback finds very uncomfortable.

'It's not only awkward for me and my family, but it's awkward for the guys in the weight room, in the locker room, on the practice field,' he said. 'I'm here every day. People ask, 'What's going on?' Guys don't know how to react to me, how to treat me.' Read more

What does Trent Green have in common with T O? A contract!!!!!!!!! Who cares if Trent started out being politically correct. Nice guy. Going about it the right way. He threw all of that out the window by talking contract in public. Oh, there is one other difference. Do you see what i see?

Green can still lead any team to the Super Bowl. He has the knowledge to pick apart any defense in the AFL. Give him some weapons like in Miami, and with their defense, he'll finally get HIS Super Bowl Ring that was stolen from him by Kurt Warner....

Bulldog3 wants to know why Green wants to play for Miami so here are a few raesons off the top of my head{1}The weather really is great in Miami{2}The Dolphins actually have a defense and he would like to experience playing on a team with one of those{3}He knows Cam Cameron's system better than any of the qbs he would be competing against{4}He has a close relationship to Miami's qb coach{5}He has played for Cameron before and there is mutual respect there{6}Miami has made it clear they want him on their roster to compete for the starting qb position and the competition wont be slanted toward any younger players.

From the news stories I've seen on NFLN, the Chiefs want to go in a "younger direction"--they don't want him as their starter anymore, and Green feels that he has at least another couple years left in him for that position. He doesn't want to ride the bench quite yet, and Miami has shown in interest in letting him earn the starting position. As another poster pointed out--he's familiar with Cameron, and would feel at home playing for him.
