I would say absolutely YES, they'll keep him until Green's in the fold. They can actually start camp with DC still on the roster ... say for the first week/10 days. They have to get him up and running to bring value to the picture. This weekend may be a critical time if DC can move around freely. Daunte has value to someone for sure, but only if he's truly healthy. It's highly unlikely they'd entertain the thought of keeping DC & TG, based on salary cap #s.<quoted text>
No, not a fantasy football guy. Just a fan trying to figure it out. My point was that a lot of people seem quite sure that Green knows Cameron's system and I'm questioning whether that's really the case. Your statement seems to imply that the attraction has more to do with loyalty than system knowledge. Doesn't that support my point?
Anyway, I hear what you're saying about getting Green after the final cut. And I agree, that doesn't really benefit anybody, least of all the Dolphins. But here's a question that I will ask you directly:
Do they keep Daunte until after they have signed Green? On one hand it seems prudent, on the other hand, it seems that the Dolphins would lose all leverage in dealing Daunte. Does Daunte have trade value? They can't keep both, can they?
I missed your point on losing leverage once TG is traded & signed ? The leverage is the same. He's (Culpepper) a proven NFL starting QB of the upper echelon, and if healthy, most assuredly has value, as does Plummer, as does Wilkinson ... to the right team !!
