This is the worst move the team has made since signing Jerry Rice.

Looks like another disappointing season on the defensive side.

I hate the lack of loyalty in sports. On both sides. Al seems to be a great guy, great player and a great representation of a pro athlete. I hope he is healthy and that the break up is handled amicably.

Loved all of the off season moves Shanny has made so far but this one leaves me scratching my head. There has to be something troubling Al physically that the Broncos are seeing. I do not see any other reason why they would not re-sign him. He is your leading tackler and pro bowl caliber player. You cannot go out and replace a guy like that.

I don't know why they arent trying to restructure his deal, the defense will be lost without him. You can replace his tackles, but you cannot replace his leadership

If the Broncos do indeed decide to release a player and man of the caliber that Al Wilson is, and has been not only to the team, but to Denver as well, I will definitely change my allegiance to another team that shows some loyalty to its fans and players. Salary cap? Broncos shell out big money to free agents this off season? They couldn't spare some of this for one of their steadiest, most well liked players?
Seems like the Broncos are going the way of the Rockies...put together a team that plays well one year, then ditch your best performers the next. Broncos, take note...there will be ALOT of fans who will scream about letting Al Wilson go!

I suppose they are going say he's a victim of the salary cap...that's an insult to Al...I'm sure they can trim more deadweight from the team (now we are rid of plummer) w/o losing him.

This just follows up all of Shanahans STUPID moves this year. I havent been happy since they pulled Plummer. Then they go and sign all these big one year deals with high end high salary players, but cant keep the ones that have this team playing well. WILSON is the best in his position in the NFL, not only physically but mentally and the heart and sould of the Defense. I am a colorado native, and i agree with SEC, looks like a rockies moves. I LOVE THE BRONCOS AND WILL ALWAYS HAVE BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE DIE HARD FAN< BUT THIS IS JUST PLAN STUPID.

Thats the problem when they start making this more of a "business" Remember when they let Steve Atwater go, so they could sign that good for nothing Dale Carter? If I remember right, he didn't play for us much, and when he did, he wasn't any good. I think he even got a suspension for substance abuse when he was here. I will still watch the Broncos, but I will not be happy about this move

I understand that the game of football has turned from fun into some big business, but when will the powers that be understand that players like Al Wilson are needed. As one of the driving forces of the defense Al Wilson will definatly be missed. this sucks!!!!

become acustom to losing, he likes it.....

Why would they want to release one of the best middle linebackers in the league in my opinion if they do release him they just released one of there best defensive players.

this is absolutely ridiculous! we'll give 30 million to a blocking TE, 12 million to a 3 strikes and you're out RB, but cant or wont commit to the heart and sould of our D?? Bronco fan for life, but definitely upset with the offseason moves. How much was John Lynch's extension?

I'm going to take the "wait & see" stance with this one.

I didn't like the idea of trading Al Wilson, and I really don't like him just being released and getting nothing for him. I have to think something (negative) is going on with his health in terms of that neck injury late last season.

I also didn't like trading Clinton Portis for Champ Bailey at the time... but that has seemed to work out just fine.

I don't unerstand why are they getting rid of the good players or maybe it's just some one who really don't no a thing about football. I think it's all about money and that that. It's a shame these players and owners are all in it for the money. I know money talk and well you know what I'm trying to say. It's a shame they are all about money, money money, and basketball also. Any sport these days it's not the same any more. I would hate to see him leave the team. But a business is a just that a business.
