As for adding a 12th team, didn't the B-10 court the Irish before Penn St came on board? They'd be a nice addition and we could keep things in the mid west. I know they suck right now, but that will change (someday).

I don't think that ND participates in the required number of D1 sports to become a member of the B10. Not like the Big-east and others that slop together short term football or B-ball only leagues.

Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson established himself as a potential Heisman candidate next year with a dazzling game against Texas. The junior completed 26 of 33 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns. He also ran for 97 yards. For the season, Johnson has thrown 28 touchdown passes with only six interceptions.

I hope no one in here will or have say anything about our QB TP being a Heisman candidate next year...Here is Dual threat QB that can play...that understands coverages and can throw a ball...TP need to prove the Critics wrong by going into next year and be SIGNIFICANTLY better that what he is today....or maybe JJ is a better all around athlete.

Ah, didn't know about all that. Hope the conf. makes the decision and brings a quality team soon. A championship game would definitely help with the poor national image, that and beating top national teams occasionally.

Adopting a true play-off system should be the NCAA's big project though. Conference Champs duke it out in the Bowls for the right to play for the NC. Two rounds should do it. The teams with the best records keep playing till there's only one left.

I like the playoffs to top 8-10 teams play for the right to be in the title game? Highschool even has a playoff for crying out loud?
