I think his cool persona is what USC needs. He proves a valid point. On the field, if you fumble or screw up, everyone tells you to just shrug it off. Yet if you get a touchdown or something everyone wants you to go crazy. Why not meet in the middle? Don't celebrate to much and don't sweat the screw up. Freakin awesome. I can't wait for the next 3 years with him at the helm!!!! I think we might have the next big thing right here. The next "Manning" so to speak.

Time to turn in your brush, Painter. This is the article you came up with? Matt Barkley needs to improve his ENTHUSIASM on the sidelines? Watch the song girls, hell, watch Pete Carroll if you want enthusiasm. Hell, watch me: I'm enthusiastically wiping myself with your paper as we speak.

Well, there we all were sitting in our great seats watching the Barkley led offense in their first two sputtering series,,,,,,,"not ready"....."Bates must be kicking himself for not starting Corp".........."we will be lucky to be 10-2 with this kid"......well, that is why Pete is the coach and we are just fans..........the kid is great and he will lead us back to that BCS title game..........when you think about it, Pete didn't compile the best winning percentage of any division one coach by listening to us......and that is a VERY GOOD thing, indeed!!!

Amen Mickey. That's the biggest thing that I try and tell people, Pete doesn't have the record he has by doing what everyone else wants. He does it by doing what he knows, which is coaching football. Never underestimate the smarts of Pete Carroll. Everyone thought USC would go back to being a average team after Norm Chow left. That obviously didn't happen. Everyone thought the team would be screwed with John Booty at the helm. Granted he wasn't the best quarterback, but they STILL won over 11 games. Now people are concerned with this year because we not only have a freshman qb, but we lost Sarkisian. Granted it was just San Jose State, BUT, USC still showed it's power and smarts saturday(with the exception of the 1st quarter and the fumbles, lol). I can't wait for this weekend!!!

Carroll is not a quaterback guru, Sarkissian was, who was an understudy of Norm Chow, who knows how to develop quaterbacks. Your new chump from the Broncos is a Mr. Nobody that fell into that job because no one else wants it. Lets see how Barkley handles 105,000 screaming fans telling him he suck, LOL! that should be a dandy sight. After a couple of sacks he will start drinking and partying to forget how much he sucks. He throws wobble, man, this is gonna be fun!

Matt Barkley does need to improve his ENTHUSIASM because he knows he sucks! He looked nervous, which by the way wasn't that San Jose State you guys played. A team from the bottom of the WAC, and you guys are partying like its the Superbowl, LOL!

Hey! Not Surprised! Carroll is not quaterback guru, if that was the case he would have done better in the NFL. Again, what have the Bite On! quaterbacks have done in the NFL, except get injured and get drunk, right! Nada!

Freddy my boy, so this means when someone from not so an affluent area makes a comment you don't like, you chastise them for where they live?, but when a hot recruit comes out Carson or Gardena, ie., Morell Presley, you praise them?
Bite On! the same Pete Carroll ideology! Win at any cost! Good Motto for a school that is about to be punished by the NCAA for violations.

I never said Pete was SOLELY responsible for the quarterbacks. As for how the qb's have done in the NFL, well, maybe you're right, Sanchez is just a rookie, he's only the starting qb for the NY Jets, Leinart, well, yeah he's having a hard time getting his groove, but he did start for a little bit. Plus when you have a seasoned pro on the team like Kurt Warner, it's hard to move pass that person. Just give Leinart some time. He'll mature.
