I called my shot last week and I have to apologize to all of you. I said the Trojans would win by a score of 38-17. I unfortunately gave Ohio St. too much credit.

When Ohio State completes it season with a 10-2 record, I hope all the coaches and poll voters realize they are a fraud, who consistently pad their schedule with teams like Youngstown State, Troy University and Ohio University. After being demolished in two BCS championship games and now this debacle at the L.A. Coliseum, it is time to relegate Ohio State to the trash heap and send them to the Hula or Meineke Muffler Bowl. I don't think USC played great against Ohio State but they will certainly improve. I doubt that Ohio State will improve.

Pad their schedule?
How do they pad their schedule when they have scheduled USC this year and next, then Oklahoma for 2 years?
They play teams from the MAC because they're in Ohio. Didn't USC play Fresno State, that real powerhouse, a couple of years ago?

Yes, USC played Fresno St. a few years ago and as I remember beat the crap out of them. Just have a good time watching your Texas teams rise all the way up to the middle of the pack only to get that incredible bid to the Sun Bowl or the Holiday Bowl or the Whateverisnew.com Bowl or something.

In a radio interview with Jim Tressel I heard Friday on KSPN 710 here in LA he said they play teams like that as home games to make money. Doesn't he think that if he schedules better teams and gets his teams to a higher level they won't make the money they need for their athletic dept. that way and create more prestige for their program?

That is why USC is the juggernaut of a program and has been for the last several years. Pete Carroll schedules these significant opponents so his program can succeed and attract the best of the best. That is why right now they have three, count them three, quality quarterbacks who could start almost anywhere in the country. But they came here to be a part of the best program. And for the 2009 class they've already signed the #1 quarterback in the ESPN 150. Why do you think that is.

Because they play a tough schedule every year, they play on the national stage and they WIN.

I will bet serious money that Fresno State this year would either beat Ohio State or push them to overtime.

I agree. FS gave Wisconsin a great game and almost won that and I think Wisconsin is better than Ohio St. this year. Right now, none of the big teams from the east want to travel to the Valley.

Yea, an I "eye opener" on how much Ohio State Sucks. As a UCLA fan, this was a win-win game. I don't like USC (obviously) but I don't like teams like Ohio State that get ranked so high and play a bunch of teams that a majority of people haven't even heard of.

Oh and its my duty to say the obvious... USC sucks in everything but football. But that will soon change with UCLA having the building blocks by getting great coaches and hopefully better recruits. Oh yea......also UCLA higher ranked in almost every aspect in Academics. People please don't argue with me on this.. just go to that popular school ranking website US news.

And how about them Dodgers!

The funny thing is that a sub .500 team from the ACC "Virginia" has a better offense than Ohio State LOL~!

At least Virginia scored 7 points opposed to only 3 for Ohio State against USC LOL~!=)

You must be thinking of some other Fresno State, because the game I remember Bush had to make a miraculous run to save the game for them. Until then, Fresno State was step-to-step with them.
Tressel schedules these games to make money? Makes sense to me. When you have 108,000 people in your stadium you make money.
Oh, and in regards to teams from Texas, wasn't it Texas that beat the Trojans for the national championship 3 years ago?

Look True,

Ohio State has good athletes and I think good coaches. Ohio State has a lot of future NFL players.

I just can't put my finger on why Ohio State can't be more competitive in these big games. I don't understand why the games are not even close.

The Buckeyes win all the time until they meet a big, physical & speed team and OSU has those same quality players.

WHY?

Is it Bad Luck?(The Buffalo Bills Factor)

Everywhere Tress has gone he has won, regardless.

The Buckeyes are well coached.

They Recruit well.

I don't know why the games are not closer, for what it worth.

True you are a good fan and I respect your POV and no worries your Bucks will be back very soon FACT~!=)

Think for a momoent of all of the Buckeye opponents that wished on their best day that they were Ohio State.

Ohio State streams rolls most everyone they play and they are very successful as a organization, wins recruts & player development
and NFL draft picks.

But the upside is, I don't think OSU will lose the rest of the season outside of maybe a tough game vs. Wisky or Penn State???? but who really knows.

I can for sure see Ohio State in a BCS bowl game so all is not lost it was only one game.

Take care True~!=)

Definitely not an Ohio State fan, but your reasoning is flawed. USC has a very week schedule this year. They played a poor Virginia team, Ohio State which is the best team they will face this year....the only other team that is the least bit good on the schedule is Oregon and that is not saying much. Notre Dame will probably be a rout.....so strength of schedule, can not really be argued here. The only way they can make a statement is by taking it back to Ohio State and give them a good ripping next year as well.

hey Joe, whats with Petes schedule this yr.? Your bye weeks are early this year, I think you go 8 straight weeks before the next bye week, before ND.
Speaking of ND did you see Charlie get nailed on the sidelines?

When my boys and I were predicting scores, I thought SC would win by a score of about 35-17. Wow...Ohio State without a TD for the first time since when?!?! Holy God, USC outplayed them on both sides of the ball all night long! Obviously Ohio State did not play their best game (also w/o Beanie), but it seems to me like even if they played great, USC simply has the better squad and was going to win that game either way. Too bad we don't have much else in the Pac-10...
