It was interesting that one freshman quarterback was able to hit his mark, and the other wasn't.

Seems pretty clear cut. UCLA said "don't hand us anything," and USC said, "have it your way."
I agree with the UCLA coach. Get on one knees when you're asking your boyfriend to marry you. It doesn't belong on a football field. It's condescending.
Cut the crap. Play the game.
If you want to play "half-speed," that's up to you. Kneeling is for girls and frenchmen.

I would say that Pete Carroll should be through whining about Stanford now.

both teams had mediocre years and are irrelevant this season...Carroll better hope that Barkley holds himself more accountable than coaches do or he will lose this team and recruits...they may only be college kids, but they know BS when they see it...

The headline says it. Respect Us. We are the greatest football team in Los Angeles. We are smarter, more talented and better connected than anyone at UCLA. Their coach shouldn't have used that time out against us. What was he thinking. USC is in charge here. We play the game our way. We feel disrespected because we deserve all the praise we get. Get over it. Fight On!

So Neuheisel calls a time out with just under a minute left in the game. He wants to keep playing. For what? He wants to show that he is stil coaching. What a joke. UCLA football is a joke.
"OK", says Pete, we'll keep playing. Great call Pete, great throw Matt and great catch Damian.
Stick it to the chumps.
FIGHT ON SC!!

aww, poor matt barkley feels disrespected by a coach calling a timeout... get him his pacifier! I like how he was talking about getting his helmet on for a fight... he would been in the ER even fighting UCLA's smallest player... Newport Beach pretty boys need to hide behind the real men.

If UCLA calls for a timeout because they wanted the slim chance of getting the ball back for a quick score and an onside kick. If UCLA wanted to keep playing then either team can score. Neuheisal admitted that UCLA should have defended against that long pass.

USC lead by Pete Carroll was bush-league for gazing and pointing at the UCLA sideline after the final TD that was followed by USC players taunting the Bruins. UCLA didn't like it so they came onto the field. I thought Pete Carroll was better than that especially after Jim Harbaugh hurt Pete's feelings at the Stanford game.

USC felt 'disrespected'? That's weak spin.

Both sides share some responsibility.

No more reading here. It was a football game of cross town rivals. USC had a rough year...pre 2000 every year was rough going back to the 80's. UCLA had beaten USC 11 times in a row prior to Pete arriving. UCLA hires a new coach and SC's old coordinator, who was run out of the pro's for whatever reason. And still whinning....I for one am very happy to see the PAC 10 shine this year it only makes this conference more respectable. Also, I am thrilled that Pete Carroll is here. And sadden that a bunch of couch potatoes love to pick on college kids - I hope it makes you feel good about yourself.

What's the big deal....ucla tried to keep the score closer by hoping for a touchdown with any time left available after timeouts, they failed to guard the long pass and loss by a bigger spread. Oh well....they gambled and loss bigger. Move along..nothing to see

Carroll was pointing at Barkley for the great pass, not the UCLA sideline.

Why all the hullabaloo?
"Little Ricky" wanted the ball back with time on the clock. Pete gave him the ball back with time on the clock and "Little Ricky" didn't have to use his final two timeouts to get it. "Little Ricky" should be more appreciative. Spoiled child.

Same thing Cal State Fullerton and Long Beach State said last year and look now the Bruins can not even beat them in basketball. There is no wind in Westwood because UCLA sucks so much, the only thing UCLA will be back for is a mountain or another time out.
