Facemask in the numbers and wrapped his arms around him. It was a picture perfect tackle. Penalize him. Fine him. But don't forget to put this in every training film on how to tackle.

If Nick Perry wants to save some money, he should put his head slightly to the side, lower is shoulder and use more force than technique. Not only will he avoid the penalties and fines, but he is more likely to crack the QB's ribs!

Nice hah? A picture perfect tackle and you get the hammer dropped on you.
IM sure it wont stop him from doing it again and it shouldnt,it was a perfect technique tackle, the call was bs on the field and even worse when they had time to look at it and still fined him for it.

The NFL is stupid with some of these fines. The right way of tackling as was done by Perry is actually less likly to result in injury because the tackler wraps up the QB which is most effectively done with the head up and placed on the numbers so you can put both arms around your target. If you have to put your head to the side, you can't wrap up as effectively, so you put your shoulder down a little more and compensate the lack of technique with more force to bring the player down. The head to the side is less sure of a tackle but makes a more devastating hit. It ends up putting both the offensive and defensive player at greater risk of injury. I guarantee that the NFL will NOT reduce injuries by discouraging proper tackling technique.

Sadly, the NFL wants to protect players but then prove it by levying a fine for a great tackle.Your right,if they do lower and slam, you will hit him harder and can crack a few ribs, but, you can also break your own neck or shoulder if your not careful.

Yes, one of the NFL's (formerly) remaining undefeated teams does stink worse than the Packers do. And the Vikings stink worse than the 3-3 Redskins!
