Full story: The Associated Press

No. 20 Auburn woke up Sunday morning to several harsh realities. The Tigers lost to Vanderbilt for the first time since 1955, have already dropped two Southeastern Conference games and the offense is showing ...

Heres a thought. Why wouldnt Tommy Tubberville use a two back system where there is Ben Tate and Brad Lester on each side of Todd or Burns at which then use a lot of wide reciever motions and double tight ends. This has got to stop and soon, this is the worst offence ive seen at Auburn in all my life and I just about cant watch anymore. Our offense has not been the best in rescent years except 2004 when we had the two back system going and it showed that we had something special. We didnt ask a whole lot out of Jason Campbell that year just manage the game and hand the ball off to Cadillac or Hummer and throw the ball down the field 10 or 15 yrds and pick up a little hear and there with the play action. Why is Tuberville so set on making this work when we cant even stay consistant enough to show any progress. Something has got to change and soon to make this even a halfway decent year and its not going to happen unless the offensive coordinator quits calling his self stupid, quit telling everyone he wishes hed done this more instead of that, and for god sakes quit making stupid decisions thats going to cost us the game at pivitol points. Not to ignore the fact that our offensive line has to quit making dumb careless penalties as well and be more poised at the point of attack. I havent seen an O-line this undisciplined ever. Im embarassed as a fan and I hope that anyone out there with at least a smuge of Auburn in them wants a change as much as I do.

Don't blame it all on Tony Franklin! It starts at the top and that is Tubberville!! He knows this is not working and he is to stubborn to admit that he is WRONG!!!

The problem with changing the offense at this point is that you've hired an Offensive Coordinator who uses this spread offense, you've taught it to your team, you've practiced and practiced and now you want to change. That's extremely difficult if not impossible. Plus, if you do that now, you undermine the O.C. and you cant have that. I've been an Auburn fan since I was 3 years old (47 now) and I've seen worse, a LOT WORSE. Sure, it's frustrating but it's needed. The offense we were using was obviously not working. We need a year or 2 to recruit to this offense and get up to speed. We'll get there and when we do, the Tigers will soar again!! Ware Eagle and don't give up the fight!!!!

I've been an Auburn fan almost all my life!! There was a time when my father almost made me a bama fan. I don't think the offense was this bad during the Barfield days and that's saying alot!! As far as the offense being taught the spread, I don't see any signs of them even remotely knowing what they are doing. WAR EAGLE!!!

I agree that the spread will not work in the SEC. The defenses are to fast! But they should not fire Franklin right now. We are to far into the season. I would say that there will just be a famine for the rest of this season.

Tony Franklin has been FIRED!!!! I didn't think that would happen until the season was over but it is true. He has been fired. Tuberville said Sunday that no changes would be made at this time but this is a big change! Tuberville said today that he would take a larger role with the offense!!
